Has anyone heard of an "inspection" of their grow room?

Regarding odor control, how about a carbon filter in the grow room on the exhaust, a carbon filter on the duct into the garage, air fresheners strategically placed throughout the house, an Ona cube in the room nearest the grow and Febreze twice a day at every door in the building? Paranoia run amok. Appreciate the great responses, thanks.. :weed:

exhaust? whats that? I recirculate a can 50 and only intake atm since I run a half assed sealed room. I think sometimes the odor that they find is either made up or it's another plant , such as moss phlox. google it and you can find some info on mistaken moss phlox for weed. or better yet here you go... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1092230/How-garden-moss-smells-like-cannabis-attracted-police-raid-pensioners--local-drug-gang.html

I'd go on to say that I lived in a house here in the denver area that some shit in the driveway smelled like the skunk bad . I'd park my van to the side of the driveway where it was graveled but this weed or wtfever it was would grow in the rocks, my eyes would water the smell was so strong in the van when I left in the morning.

Well today a relative visited and mentioned that he thought he could smell something weird by the front door and I suggested that it might be the holiday wreath. Time to double down on the Febreze and start shopping for some replacement charcoal for the filter in the room. The plants in flower are getting pungent.

if you're local to where I am it certainly wasn't anything growing out beside the driveway :|
Time for a can 50!
This is why people get flashbanged in their underwear. I wasn't running my can for awhile and walked in the front door and there was like an area right at the front door where you could catch a whiff, gonna rework the wall to be a touch more sealed.

even though legal I treat my grow as if I were underground. when they can get other info from catching an odor alone more than likely they'll get a warrant, last I knew no law enforcement had access to the registry so until you supply documents you'll be treated like a criminal, this includes military style entry into YOUR home. the fucks are brutal around here I can tell you that, I personally know someone that was cuffed in his underwear , placed in his own front yard and THEN flashbanged, I lost any respect I may have had for the pigs after I heard this story first hand from the dude it happened to.
me too man, i even block the light out and everything..hell even my best buddies have no idea .... its just a good idea.

I had 2 swat guys and 2 mmed ladies come count my plants. The ladies were kind enough to use the green lights to take leaf samples and plant count. They said they could count our fresh cut clones no roots against us but said we were nice so they'd be. Swat guy said our set up was one of the nicer ones they've seen.

Are you registered as a caregiver? If so, how many patients? I'm curious to know why they chose to inspect your grow out ot the thousands that are out there.

My lanlord wanted to make sure my set up was legit. My partner and i have the highest plant counts available at the time. No caregivers status. So he tried to get the sheriff to approve of it but might as well ask a priest to bless my garden. So i guess he found the mmed and gave them a call. Landlord just wanted to make sure his ass was covered since the last tenants made him more cautious after screwing him over. It could also have something to do with the fact im downtown in a small town with less than 10k population.

Just to be safe I bought activated carbon charcoal and will be reloading my filter. I bought the flake stuff instead of the pellets because it seems to be better for air filters, more surface area. I haven't done the deed yet, but intend to use a rubber mallet to tap the filter to settle the charcoal after packing it in. I'll try to post a few pics of the process and results. The filter is about 20 pounds, 2 feet long, 6" flange, purchased online for less than $100 way less than a year ago, but it is definitely losing its ability to remove odor. The Ona gel is great, I have it in the meantime in the area of the filter exhaust and today took it completely out of the container to maximize its effectiveness. Stealth makes sense with my situation, but for the life of me I can't understand why it is anyone's business what I grow and smoke. Today I hung my state issued card and increased plant count paperwork in the grow room just in case there is a visit.

The activated charcoal carbon flakes finally came in, stuff is derived from coconuts. When I disassembled the filter I found that the charcoal had settled and left a gap at the top of the filter, right at the flange, of over an inch, so the air was not being forced thru the charcoal, but instead escaped unfiltered out the exhaust. I replaced the charcoal anyway, tapped the filter and refilled for about an hour before it stopped setteling. I also added a wrap of metal duct tape around the top after putting the flange back on, this to prevent any air from going past the charcoal is and when the stuff settles. No pics as it was pretty much running in panic mode because the room was getting warm and humidity building and I was racing to get done before the smell reached any of the 17 gozillion peole who suddenly decided to go for a walk past my place the very minute the filter came off. It works great now, there is no odor at all.
