has anyone grown a full size plant trained to lay down under tubes before?

I have one auto a good bit taller than the rest that I've been training down, and it occurred to me, couldn't I grow a full size plant under 3 balast of 2 4ft T8's by keeping the topped tied down like I'm currently doing with the auto? Has anyone tried it?

You can train your plant to grow any-which-way you'd like, but it will always want to grow towards the light, so a lot of people when training a plant may bend a stem and tie it down. Each day that comes brings more growth which will also need trained. FWIW, I don't like to train my plants unless I run out of height. One; it's too much work :lol:, two; I don't feel like the plant would want to be trained if it had a choice. But they do very well when trained and it's great for indoor growing when height or space is an issue.

†L† height is definitely an issue...Right now I have 6 girls under my lights, but they should be done in a month, at which time I'm going to put my bubble gum under it and see which produces a higher yield. 6 small plants or 1 big plant...

i tied mine down and went straight in one direction. the bottom set of leaves then got more light, making them grow more. since the top is tied down, theyre now the same height. as they continue to grow, u will have 4 tops, then 6 or 7. then maybe more. these other ones come from new branches. most of these tops are about the same height. so instead of a triangular, christmas tree shape, it grows sort of like the shape of a menorah.

also, im also growin bubblegum right now. they just went into flowering yesterday
