There are tons of threads on this and lots of Youtube videos also.. Check Youtube for videos. I have seen tons of them.. Basically though it is simple. This is what I do and everyone has there own little tips and such. When my trichomes are about 20%-30% amber, I turn off lights for up to 48 hours. I usually only do it for 24, but I ocassioanly try 48 hours. (haven't really noticed a difference). After the plant sits in darkness for 24-48 hours, I cut my plants down. I then remove the large fan leaves by hand and then use curved shears to manicure. You want to make sure that you get the whole stem and don't leave part of a stem just sitting there exposed. I throw all my leaves and trim into a freezer bag as I go and when I am done I freeze the trimmings so I can make some bubble hash later. I keep my branch with bud lengths to between 6" - 18". I then put these branches in my 6 layer drying screens and then put the drying screens back in my grow box where I keep my exhaust fan going 24 hours a day to combat odor and at the same time keep fresh air moving through. I flip my branches once a day as they are lying on screens and not hanging upside down. Most people just hang the branches upside down and don't put them on screens. After I leave them drying for usually 7-14 days (leave until branch snaps when you bend it. It doesn't have to break clean but it should snap and not be limp or able to just bend). Once the branch snaps when you bend it, the weed is dry and ready to cure. At this point, I take the buds off of the branches and put them in glass mason jars to cure. I keep the jars in the dark (as you should keep the plant in the dark the whole time once you start to dry). I open the tops of the jars and move the buds around gentley. I leave the top off of the jar maybe for 5 or 10 minutes at the most just to let the moisture escape. I cure for a minimum of 2 weeks but usually 3.

Keep your humidity low and your temperature under 70 and you will be set. Make sure you don't have any issues like mold or mites.. Good luck..
