harvesting in the dark??

Well i brought plants in after freeze warning but trichs looked good,plus sample gave me the high i wanted so decided to harvest my 2 outside babies!!!well they were in the dark for 2 days and i harvested alittle of the plants,been doing as much as i can everyday,but its going on 4 days now,will keeping them in the dark for that long have any effect bad are good????Just wondering cause im taken my time and they may be in dark all together 5 days!! Alright what do you think????

I don't think you should suffer from any negative effects from keeping them in the dark but I would get them hanging asap. Actually, harvesting during the dark cycle is very beneficial because the plant stores its nutrients in its roots at night, thus eliminating bad chemical tastes from leftover nutrients in the buds

+1, harvest before the light come on if you're an indoor grower.

As far as being in complete darkness, a scientific study was done on this exact topic. During the last week of flower, ie flushing, they increased the darkness period to 48 hours, and saw a slight increase in resin production and THC content. The plant tries to put every last bit of energy out because of the lack of light.

However, what I've heard is what funnymunny posted. Best time for harvest is in the middle of the night, all the water and nutes are stored in the roots, but they start to take up water about 2 hours before the lights come on, they know the cycle. It's like you getting your morning coffee to start the day. They know the sun's about to rise, and they are ready for it.
