There is an entire forum dedicated to harvesting and curing here on RIU, i would suggest reding through some of those threads. I usually shut the lights off a couple of days after the last watering, they stay off for 36 hours and then I cut. After manicuring I hang the budz until the stem 'snaps' when bent. I thrn seprate the budz and place them in an air-tight container and cure for at least a week. Curing is opening the lids on the containers for 1/2 hr every 6-8 hours to let the mositure escpe. Good Luck!

Nothing beats the old cashing way hang ur branches upside-down on a line takes about six days at room temp for regular size buds then place loosely in mason jars for the first three days let the breathe for a few minutes a few times a day then for the next weak or so breathe once a day after this no need to breathe the longer u cure the better it will smell taste and smoke I cure for at least two weeks u wa8ed this long b patient it will pay off when drying check daily after four days buy bending stems u want them to crack but not sever if severed u dried to longIMAG0072.jpg

Yes it needs to be dark and ventilated. Hopefully you will have more to cure than what can fit into an Rx bottle. i would not suggest a pickle jar unless you want your budz to smell and taste of vinegar. Mason jars are cheap. Here is a link to the harvesting and curing forum.

Look for Rumple's harvest in the harvest section. Follow it exactly and you will have perfectly cured buds at the end.
