I just finished drying my auto flower northern lights. Was wondering how much do I trim? Do I have to trim every littleleaf on the bus? I don't want to cut off bud on accident please help. I trimmed this piece already. Was wondering do I trim more?

it`s up to you mate

I normally just trim off the big ones and anything I don`t like

I leave more leaves then most because I look at them and if they are frosty I leave them on unless I want trim to make extracts with and then I cut as much as I can off

It`s personal choice unless your selling it then its the "good looking bud vs leaves add weight" dilemma lol

You don't have to trim a thing if you don't want to. You trim as much as you want. Most folk i see tend to do a crap job (in regard to my desires) and leave sugar leaves (the small small ones) all over the bud. I used to trim every single little leaf off. Leaves have a tendancy to be a little harsher on the throat than bud.

At the end of the day, don't worry too much about the notion of trimming bud off. Standard proceedure when growing is to remove all the big fan leaves and discard, and then anything else trimmed off gets turned into hash, edibles etc (google gumby bubble hash for a cheap easy method). Many people also just throw all the popcorn bud into their hash bucket as well (this is the bud from the bottom of the plant that is more leaves than bud, and is just a pain to trim given the return)

Looks fine. Most of the remaining sugar leaf pieces will fold in and compress in the cure jars anyways.

Right cuz the leaves have lots of frost. But do the leaves give a harsh taste+?

they contain a different mix of chemicals and cannabinoids

So it depends on the leaf, most people that say its harsh are people who mix their lovely herb with mass produced tobacco leaf, so I don`t see why they have an issue but hey

If you cut away everything but flowers then 1g of them flowers would technically be stronger then the 1g of pre trimmed bud but that`s still no reason to trim it all off

The other thing is that the leaves have a different mix and ratio of cannabinoids and some people just want as much thc as they can get so it can make a difference to the ratio of cannabinoids

but it`s pretty easy to just pull off what ever you don`t like when its dry, just some leaf can effect the smell, it smells more like dam or drying grass, the wrong kind of grass, any leaves like that need to go, normally I cut the when the plant is in flush so I don`t have loads of trimming and shit to deal with before or after drying.

but I leave the small sugar leaves on and even sometimes some of the bigger shade leaves, I take off all the fan leaves of course

Kinda depends on the strain too

Once all my fan leaves are cut off, and the non-sugary tips of the sugar leaves, I then cut the popcorn buds and trim the remaining sugar leaves from the larger buds into a separate bowl that I use for my edibles. You can also smoke them, yes.
