I just harvested a blackberry bubba clone and the buds are full of these tiny little seeds that are so small you can barely notice, i'm wondering if this will make a difference in bud quality:wall: :bigjoint:

intersexual. hermies have both male and female parts. intersexual have mostly one part with a few random other parts. this makes it a lot harder to spot that one or 2 male flowers

I've bought weed like this before, completely immature seeds. It shouldnt make a diff to taste, not like proper full blown seeds.

I think they look like empty dry seed pods that were never pollinated... but everyone keeps telling me it's a male flower...

I am just trying to figure it out for a fact...:eyesmoke:
Dude 100% those are male polen sacs, balls, bananas, they got to go!!!!! The plant is making a last ditch attempt at reproduction before death...I get this also, but I pull them with tweezers much sooner...be careful.

I also get some that never erupt out of the calyx and produce a nice fat seed...I get 1-3 per plant, and have yet to try them...I am pretty sure they would be girls, but keep this trait.

Note: I have two strains that do this, and they appear @ ~week 5 and again just before they finish. It seems to be going away as my latest only had maybe 3-4 and she gets chopped any day now.

The pics you saw are of the girls I chopped...;-)

Thanks for the info...

Now you say they are "male polen sacs, balls, bananas, " but I see no pollen... no other male parts.. just these "bananas"...

You are not the first to tell me this... nor am I doubting you...

But I am trying to get past "common knowledge" here...

Dude.. you know I respect you and your opinions...

But I am looking for hard evidence here...

Anyone got any links to any serious articles on "bananas"???

Thanks Bro!!!

Well here is something I found real quick...not a peer reviewed journal...but that is asking a lot. I will not post the link as it goes to a competitor site...google image "bananas on marijuana"

I understand the reluctance to believe, but trust me, this I know...I have them, they polinate my bud if not careful, if you smash one you will see pollen especially when they are fat...unless they opened already, you said they looked empty...anyhow here you go:

"You will know which plants are male and which plants are hermafroditic females because the true males will produce the distinctively familiar clusters of balls while the females prodouce modified male flowers that look like bananas, sticking out of the flowers, like in this picture. They are however very small and not that easy to spot, you'll need at least 10x magnification."

it is in fact a male flower. looks like it hermied very late in flower. not too bad. but thats when you get tini seeds in the calyxes. it wont totaly kill the quality.. but it will give it a less potent taste. if you ever smoked mids you would know what im talking about.

I believed you... I am just looking for what you said would be asking a lot... Scientific proof...:eyesmoke:

But I did read one word that has deff. changed shades of gray in my head...

The words MODIFIED MALE FLOWER had never been used in any of the articles I have had access to...

Therefore, my reluctance was fueled in part by my eyes not seeing MALE FLOWERS, even under the magnifying glass...

I have grown males before, and these were DEFF. different than what I saw then...

Thanks for your time dude...!!!

WOW the mods edited the pic out because of it's address.

When I first saw mine I was confused also as I have seen true males before and "balls" did not fit the girlie stamens
