Harvest too early ... or not??

Vortex from TGA chopped at 42 days..

Trichs are 80% milky, 20% clear

Looking for a productive, energetic high without the couchlock

Good move ? Or should have waited longer considering the desired effect??

What are your thoughts?

Thanks for all the feedback guys. Interesting to read all the different perspectives.

FYI The plant is still alive and well... that was just ONE main cola of 8 that are still to be harvested:cool:
then watch the other colas, pretty soon they'll start to pack on weight, and they'll come close to doubling in size. about a week to ten days after they quit swelling, they ought to be close to peak ripeness

Looks like a nice healthy plant, with some lovely colas. In another 25-30ish days it will be tasty and ripe!
So your assuming this plant has a 70+ days flowering period?

I’ve grown this before and its done at 55 days.

We’ll see, this may be a different pheno.

Yeah easily had another 3-4 weeks. You chopped that cola way too early, live and learn though. If you still have the rest of the plant going though then no worries I suppose. Just let her ride out a while, should be fine still.

Sorry bud there is zero chance this pheno will be done at 55 days. It's still growing fresh calyxs and pistils.

Also I'm not assuming anything, I'm looking at the growth of the plant and making a judgement based on years of experience.

There are not many sativa dominant plants that are properly matured in under 60 days, I don't care what the breeder says. Breeders isolate special phenos in ideal grow conditions. Average seed growers do not. Nearly all seeds will give you different phenotypes that each has special requirements.

I don't know that pheno intimately so it might not take 70+ days. From how it currently looks, which is great, I definitely think that pheno could take that long though. It's got strong sativa characteristics and looks. Like it will need the time to actually be proper.

you can get close to the same results each time if you clone...but not always. if you're growing from seed, you can grow 100 from the same mother, in the same conditions, and get at least 20 different phenos, with further differences within the subsets...no way of saying when they'll be done on an individual basis

Thanks for kind words fellas!!

Here’s the Vortex at 49 days... (shes looking very dank and I notice a more complex terp profile and smell as I rub fingers on leaf trichomes)
