Harvest help???

This is my second grow. My first grow was close to perfect, this one has been about as far from perfect as I can imagine... To begin with I am growing a White Rhino in a hydroponic drip setup (waterfarms). It is supposed to be an indica/sativa mix but this girl is 150% sativa! She easily quandrupled in size after switching to 12/12! I have been overgrown! (Which reminds me, RIP OG... )

I planned for 8 - 9 weeks in flower and I am going on 10 weeks. I NEED to chop soon. I am not anxious to have my harvest as much as I am anxious to shut down the grow. So here is my question: is now an acceptable time to harvest? I know it isn't an optimal time. I am just looking for input on whether I am seriously crippling the quality or if I am just sacrificing a little...

I am not particularly proficient at reading the trichs. I have the 60x - 100x from Radido Shack but I generally use the 10x - 15x. At 10x - 15x I see quite a few clear trichs. I would estimate there are 40% - 60% cloudy trichs. I have seen maybe a dozen sporadic amber trichs over the last week.

It seems like the trichs have not progessed much over the last few weeks, I think I have been on 40% - 60% cloudy for a few weeks now. It just seems like the cloudy trichs are getting more cloudy. Maybe it is because the maturity has been stunted? I have no more fan leaves left (a result of... being overgrown I guess. Or maybe my salt toxicity problem. They all turned yellow, dried up and fell off.) However, I don't think so because the buds are REALLY swelling and they look FABULOUS! Red hairs, covered, and I mean COVERED in trichs. If I frosted them whipped cake icing they wouldn't look anymore white! The main cola is much thicker than my forearm, and longer too!

The attached pics are about 4 - 5 days old (and aren't very good). The buds have fattened a little more and the trichs have gotten a little more frosty...

Would it be a huge mistake to chop in 3 - 5 days? At that time it will be about 70 days since I switched to 12/12 (after a little under 4 weeks in veg).

Thanx in advance for any advice.

Go to radio shack and pick up a magnifier. Wait till they're mostly cloudy or till the first sign of amber trichs. Check the biggest buds first. If you want to be lazy, wait till 80% of the stigmas/pistils are red/brown. Peace.

great plant jjgrow, If your freakin out then chop. other wise i say let her mature. Good luck

I agree, They look like they could hang out for a few more days. Have you started your flush. Cut now if you HAVE to. Better safe than sorry.

PS they look great. Good job. I am curious why are you getting cold feet this late in the game?

Thank you all for the comments!

There has been a bit of a surge in amber trichs in the last few days. I started with a small handfull and now I only have 2 - 3 handfulls but it is quite encouraging. I started this post just when I was getting desperate. With all the work and time (and tender loving care!) I have put in this grow, I didn't want to screw it up now. It is not about getting cold feet, I have some personal things that are pressing and I didn't plan on it going any longer than this week.

I still don't like all the clear trichs, I would like to let her go for another week, but I am not nervous about screwing up the grow anymore. I will be harvesting in a few days. I started flushing yesterday. I will post some pics after the harvest.

Check back in 3 - 7 days and I will post an update and some harvest pics.

In the meantime have a fantastic holiday weekend!
