Hailide Vs HPS

I know theres been sooooooooooo much talk about which is better for flowering.

I just wanted to add incase anyone who might be in two minds...

All i gotta say is go for it...........

My last two grows Ive switched and and the overall quaility amazes me. Why Havent i done it sooner?

And as for yeild. Id rather have shorter stockier BUds then bigger airy buds that actually weigh pretty much the same as the shorter buds.

My smoke is tens times stronger, so much frostier, tastes and smells improved no end. And yield is the same becasue my the buds are more solid.

Defo down to the UVB in the MH.

Anyway my first post since becoming a member ages ago. JUst wanted to share that as best piece of advice I can give for now.!:blsmoke:

so you used to use hps now you use mh?.
that goes against everything i have ever heard from any grower (that mh is better).
i was under the impression that mh is better for veg and hps better for bloom.
i have also heard the debate that uv lights do help and mh has a more blue spectrum, i'm just confused though.
what wattage was your hps and what is the mh you are now running?.

i use a dual-spectrum hps 600w and i'm pretty happy with the density of my buds

Yeah I use to use two 600's HPS Son t plus- for flowering and hailde for Veg. I was happy with the yield and the potency. But over the last two years I looked into the UVB side of things and switched on a trial error basis. And Im certainly not switching back. Currently use two 600w Sumaster Hailide thru out Veg and Flower.

Hailde has blue colour spectrum and HPS has a orangey Red.

However the the plant produces crystals in order of defence, UVB penetrates the plant into throwing more resin out, there is a little UVB in the Hailde but enough to make a huge difference. Its like UVB is harmful to us, UVB is harmful to the plant, as long as the plants chucking out more resin who cares? increasing potency taste smell look !!! Its ridculous on how crystaly my ladys are compared to the HPS in the past.

I started off using Dual spectrum bulbs but as soon I started to use the Hailde in Veg alone, the overall structure of my ladys vastly improved.

Remember Haildes were out way before HPS came into play and lets face it the old daze was where all the good shi* was about!

There was a really good post on YouTube about THC And UV but its been taking down...

AS for density of the buds, theres no question that the halide produces more solid buds than HPS.. Dont get me wrong HPS can still produce really well to a point where people will swear by it. I did for 5 years!!

The problem is on here that everyone rides the opinion of the last guy. I applaud you for going on your own. About 4 months ago I bought a brand new set-up that includes a 4x2 tent with a 6 bulb T5 unit and a scrog screen. People that have never even seen a T5 will tell you that it cant flower right and the buds are small and airy. Well I am here to tell you that I am super stoked with my set-up. I have large tight buds and they are maturing fast. I will never go back to dealing with the constant heat issues of an HPS again. I know this is not quite in line with this thread but I just wanted to applaued you using your own brain. It is rare here.

Oh and the advatnages of Shorter nodes by using the hailde is another bonus, less stretch in Veg and Flower - It might not emit more light in terms of Lumens But thats a whole diff story!

Sounds Good- MIxd Spectrum :) When I used to use a hailde in the middle of my Two HPS's- The middle section was always more frosty as the ladys under the HPS- thats what got me thinking a while ago. Now there is no HPS in there now. But dont get me wrong mixd Spectrum logically makes more sense.

And the only reason I dont have HPS in there now is becuz the yield is almost the same with Hailide alone, but under the Halide smokos Fooookin Loco :)
