You are not doing yourself any favours here, £ = pound...what country has a pound as currency in Europe other than Cyprus?

PS. In Europe the countries involved in the EU..... they use the euro...
Far from all european countries uses euro, and I am pretty sure that the currency is Euro in Cyprus.

Yes they use the euro but for practicality sakes in asking the question I mentioned Cyprus who is the only other country in Europe to have a "pound" as their currency before the Euro came along.

I will also mention that having been to Cyprus last summer they still use and accept Cypriot pounds in all shops.

PS. I think if you read carefully you would notice I said "countries involved in the EU" are using the euro.

Would you like to quibble about that?

Dont start to get all smart there bro, I was simply pointing it out.

There are still plenty of countries not using the euro currency involved in EU.

Pot calling the kettle black I presume..?? You were pointing out something that I had not made clear as you read it but it in no way implied that I was saying ALL EU countries use the euro, the UK for one!

Take a chill pill and realise you are pointing out the obvious...

I was busted in the UK in a similar fashion, but the CID guy said that he was entering my property under the suspicion of smelling MJ. Now believe it or not, the UK is classed as being in Europe, although as the OP (original poster) said, it uses the GBP/£, not the EURO/€. Now I lived in Scotland which also has different laws from England, even though it is in the UK, but I woudl say in your case a fairly similar set of laws. Even if you say the police didn't have a warrant, they will say they could smell drugs and entered the property on that basis. Have you been charged with cultivation? What exactly are your charges? Sounds to me like a half arsed job, the feds took absolutely everything related to growing when I got nabbed. Get a lawyer, plead guilty to possession and you'll probably get a fine, or a caution if you don't have previous. Unless someone is snitching on you they have no proof of Supply.

Good luck,

DST
Hey how many plants did you have? Did you have expensive equipment? Did they tell you how they found out?

Lots of questions but im intrigued but not enough to make myself get caught haha.

Sorry to hear about the bust man, it's things like these that make me all paranoid, even if it is across the pond AND the country. I'v only got one plant going right now but I am always making sure I act as if I am doing a cartel operation haha. I always keep my pieces, stash and everything hidden out of site of the windows and doors so the pigs cant say they saw anything that would give them permission to enter, as well as always smoke in the back of my house, furthest away from the front door so that if they do for some reason come to my door they don't smell or see anything, can never be too cautious. Hope it all works out for you man, fucking pigs cant just let us be and leave us to smoke at peace in our own homes.

i agree with welshsmoker above, if things are going down hill the last thing you need to come home to is another expense for having your door fixed, that could be your start up costs covered

I say don't answer the door and hide. If they don't have a warrant and are just doing a "knock and talk" alot of times they will come up with some make believe reason why they need to come in. Or lets say they 'smell' marijuana, or see paraphernalia in plain sight.

If they have a warrant and you're going to get busted and sent to jail, then who gives a shit about paying for a new door/door frame.

Never open the door, it just raises the chances of you getting busted. Cops are liars, and some of them are even slick talkers.

Lol, OP Fool is not from SA, death would be what he'd be worried about if so.

With that said, where are you located?

Seems like in the states.

And if so, they absolutely could not search your home without YOU letting them in.

You really should have a much better understanding of your rights if you attempt to do this again.

About your question, usually when they 'recover' drug proceeds they do it right at the bust. Anyone with any knowledge of seizure laws would say those physical items are safe. Your bank account/safe boxes are another story.

To everyone else: Never let anyone in your house. OP is a noob who got played. READ THE BLOODY US CONSTITUTION.

Sorry and good-luck.

Edit: You should have posted this in the Legal Section, or maybe one of the discussion forums, not here.
Agree.. Had a cop come to my house looking for someone that used to live there that now had a warrant. He said he had probable cause to come in the house because I answer the door with the bong in my hand... My reply was HELL NO.. He said I will just go get a warrant and I said then come back when you have it. They HAVE TO BE LET IN. If you oppened your door and they walked in even a little forcefully it is because you let them in ( by opening your door ) that is why I have a security door or an outer door I can see through for issues just like this.. But now I am legal and Live in Ca. where they allow dispensaries.

it dont work like that here boys, if the fkrs are at your door, they already have a warrant, and them fks are coming in weather you answer the door or not, i would prefer not to pay more for a fking door than the fine i would get.. you pretty much dont go down for green here now..

a 150 dollar entry door is the least of anyones problems if that happens, hell when you post bail spend 12 dollars on a sheet of plywood and come in and out the back door.

To put this into perspective.......a new uPVC door and frame will cost around £350-£900 fitted depending on what you pick. A DIY door will still cost you around £250.

I'll rather open the door thank you! And in case anyone wants to argue, if they are there with reason it is too late and they will smash that thing in, unless it's a steel door with steel security gate ;-)

If they are knocking at the door then you have already lost, and all that stealth use of equipment etc failed. Best to prevent rather than cure. Also I wish a front door cost $75. Read the above post plz.

First things first... and hopefully someone has already had the intelligence to mention this, if not.. well, that's just sad.

First thing you should NOT have done.. is just opened the door. You should have kept the door locked and simply asked these people to identify themselves. Would have put you in a much better situation my friend. Complete noob mistake though.. so I'll let ya slide on this one.. consider this a learning experience. ;)

Good luck to ya.

peace.

P.S. - If you want/need some excellent legal advice.. msg me and I'll try and help you out with the situation. If you don't msg me.. well, then... best of luck to ya.

I've had the cops force their way in a few times the first time was after my mother died and I was 19 they came to my place because my Former (separated for a year/ almost divorced)stepfather said that I stole my moms tv, funny since I was the executor of the will and showed a copy to them. After reading the warrant I told them they had no grounds and showed the will to them. the cops took it and wouldn't give it back after and then rushed inside and his partner (a little asian dude btw...lol I could have mangled him) slammed me into the wall. The warrant was only looking for the TV which I did not have and my mother's bank statements and cards (which they took unlawfully and gave to my stepfather who drained the accounts and spent the money including my college fund on meth) when I spoke up I literally had a gun at my head.
It turned out months later and well after I had dropped out of school, that the cops were wrong and they told me that I the only legal option I could take was to sue my stepfather for the missing property that also included a bunch of my girlfriends jewlery.

Bottom line; I learned real quick to be a "legal smartass" when it comes to police. I may be a nerd for reading a lot of text books but I'm informed and I wont give up my rights again
