I`ve been growing 3 years now and i still consider myself to be a newbie/beginner.
During this time i`ve probably grown 30 diff. strains...i see 2 diff kinds of plants - short, bushy, fat leaves = indica dominant....and tall, not bushy, w/lonnnnggg slender leaves = sativa dominant...right? You can`t have a short, bushy plant w/fat leaves and it be sativa dominant right??
I`ve got HSO blue dream and trainwreck...both are all the way indica dominant...yet there description at Attitude says mostly sativa...sup wi dat ? ? Why are they calling these sativa dom.? Am i wrong?

It says "Trainwreck has thin leaves..." mine sure doesn`t.
I will say trainwreck has been my largest producer to date, last grow - 11 plants, 7.5x8 room w/4000 watts blazing( i can hold a match up 6" from the glass, and it will light),...2 were trainwreck, 1 at 11 oz other 12oz...good buzz, but not much smell. The main cola on these babies reminds me of the neck of a male deer in rut, just massive and thick...
Blue dream, very dissapointing...first grow was great = perfect hard, dense, nugs, covered in a ton of orange hairs...since then, nothing but tons of foxtailing... i`m gonna drop it.

Anyway, thats my report

I had really good yields with HSO trainwreck and Blue dream and both of them smoked fairly good with decent stone. It was about 2 years ago. I'd rate them an 8 mostly due to the yields. I'd rate a 6-7 on smell, stone, and strength. Both appeared to be indica / sativa blend around 50/50 imo. I don't do large grows though since I'm a fucking hermit and I "use" everything I grow so this is just a comment, not advise. The plants did lack character (if you know what I mean) but I got a gram per watt off of them even with the clones I took.

If the temp on the wall is 83F, the temp in the canopy will be much higher because of the intensity of the light. High bud temps are the enemy of frosty flavorful trichs and hard dense nugs. It can lead to foxtailing and fluffy buds that take forever to finish. Some varieties can handle heat better than others and will still have decent sticky buds. Was the foxtailed run during a warmer season than the first run?

As far as indica vs sativa dom, the very best performers (IME) in terms of potency, flavor and yield are slightly sativa dom hybrids. Leaves are in between slender and fat:

There are some very dank indica dom hybrids but I can't get them to yield as well in my setup. Maybe better for a shelf setup that can make better use of vertical space. I try to veg them up more and feed slightly less. Fatter leaves, maybe benefit from some defoliation and during veg and leaftucking in flower.

The actual blue dream cutting has slender leaves but the HSO version I ran was more indica dom if I recall.

First, freakin' cool grow room dude. That is sweet!

I have been looking at the HSO strains for my next run after being scared away from Barney's Farm brand by this community. I've had Blue Dream personally a few times, but it made me a little anxious. Finishing up some Lemon OG Haze Auto's right now in my first DWC (huge pain, good learning experience). They'll be done in about a month, so I need to pick my next line. HSO seems pretty well respected around here. The new Lemon Garlic OG and Cholocate Mint OG both sound nice. Any I should stay away from?

Ran a freebie of HSO Trainwreck, it was definitely sativa dominant. Strong head high that made me paranoid, seemed to amplify negative body feelings like pain. Pretty good yielder. Maybe HPS just brings out bad "indica" phenotypes?

H.S.O freebie bubba kush reg. This was a excellent plant.
Yeah, I got nice results from the trainwreck like that. I liked the smoke too, no paranoia but I'm old so not too many strains freak me out anymore. Very nice plant there!
