hey guys, tonight it was halloween and ever since i was about 14 ive been pissing around every halloween doing the latest drug in the area...

today it was shrooms and ALOT of them... me and my mate sat down @ his house and have been eating shrooms and washing them down with homemade beer with a load of other shit...

anyway i get home and start the computer up and tell my other mate about the whole thing and he just goes "mate you are fucked... Death caps are shrooms that randomly kill you after you take them..."

please tell me if this statement is true and if i am likley to suffer for eating maybe 50 shrooms? thanks guys :bigjoint:

From what information you gave him was he able to deduce the fact that they were 'death caps' and not just normal shrooms?

Maybe your friend is a little bit off the handle with information regarding drugs? I met a person once who thought acid made your
brain bleed. Thats how you trip out, right? aaannyways, not that aneurysms aren't fun or anything but you'll be fine. If I'm wrong and
you aren't though, msg on here later and tell me I'm wrong. : P

welll, my mate that i got the shrooms off was like 99.99% they were decent shrooms since its england and there was a huge shroom patch in a field next to his house... they made shroom tea and everything and was swigging it down and chomping away bout half 4 in the avo, its now midnight and none of them have had any effects whatsoever

i think with the 7 shrooms i have left, il put them in tin foil and breath the fumes :P

Only if the are the posionous type, well, technically, psilocybin is a poison. Any way, here is a picture of a toxic look alike the Amanita phalloides.

lol, this is not a look alike for the type of shrooms he will be eating, liberty caps are the shrooms he will be talking about, hopefullly. Liberty caps are the main shroom that grows all over the uk. The Amanita muscaria or Fly Agaric is a different kettle of fish and what you maybe are getting confused with. The nearest look a like to the liberty cap is a variety of cubensis which is harmless or one that is picked mistakenly is the 'death cap' , which actually is a totally different shape and colour most of the time but grows next to liberty caps.

Guys, the shrooms were growing naterly in a sheep field, they have thin stalks and a thin pointy brown cap
they dry out white

im now kinda sure what i ate wasn't a shroom, turns out tho i only ate 1 overall according 2 my mates :o

i think the best thing is to go on a 2 wk kidney diet to flush everything out and hopefully il be around to grow weed another day :D

....technically, psilocybin is a poison....
Haha, clearly you aren't very knowledgeable in the world of neuropharmacology. Psilocybin is the phosphate ester of the psilocin molecule. Mushrooms contain more psilocybin but still trace amounts of psilocin, psilocin is more easily oxidated that psilocybin, so that accounts for the differential. When mushrooms are ingested the psilocybin is rapidly dephosphorylated into psilocin. Now when the psilocin is absorbed into your blood stream through your stomach and intestine lining, it passes through the blood-brain-barrier and binds to specific neuro receptors causing the psychoactive effects. The psilocin molecule closely resembles the several naturally occurring, in the human body, tryptamines so it can be assumed that it binds to similar receptor. So clearly as you can see that it is not actually a poison, but it can be argued that anything is technically a poison, even though oxygen is needed to live to much can cause many problems to the body in a matter of minutes. I don't want to do the googling but I could bet that alcohol is more toxic, carcinogenic, and overly harmful than most heavy psycadelics, including psilocin, LSD, MDMA, and Mescaline.

Peace

Oh, I just figured his mate said they were death caps.. So that is why I referred to the Amanita Muscaria.

No arguing here, I've just seen my fair share of truffles, and I've done a bit of looking into several kinds, and yes Oxygen is very caustic, I am well aware. I wasn't arguing that it was worse than other things, I was simply stating that it's technically a poison. I feel that you were sort of rude about that?

Anything is a poison at a high enough dose, but usually the term poison is reserved for highly toxic substances...psilocybin is less toxic than aspirin, and aspirin is not considered a poison, so I would not consider psilocybin a poison.

i would think the fucking home made beer would kill you what did that shit taste like? if you didnt get sick from the shrooms just stop worrying about it and imagine you ate a piece of food that made you sick. Instead of thinking your gonna die I would be more pissed that I spent the entire night with homemade beer and fake ass shrooms and looking at each other saying "do you feel anything? "

Lol, I'd hardly concider something you need to eat your own body weight of, as toxic...
Shit, you'd be dead if you tried to drink that much water too.
