Yes they are open. The gutters run right in them. It has pressure at the spout but drops fast. I need to reread. Did you set yours to flow downhill? I need to raise mine to get more pressure.
maori will answer you but yes he did set his to run downhill...I was just curios as we use these containers (bulkas we call em) at work everyday. No p[umps I just have them on flat ground to empty stuff out of each time..but obviously its not to feed plants etc just goes straight into a sump to be pumped away

They work great for using a short hose to fill buckets. The pressure just fades fast with a hose.

I'll look into that strain for sure!... I have heaps of fall.. The further I have the plants away the longer the fall... I'm worried about what restriction tap timers will have on water flow because I can't find a timer that Is 25mm only 19mm

i could be wrong but my understanding is.
bigger pipe = more volume of water, less pressure
smaller pipe = less volume, more pressure

and i wouldn't worry too much about the timer creating a restriction.

After talking to other ppl on hear I was thinking running the 25mm poly within half a meter of each plant, then have spaghetti tubes coming off that to the plants without a nozzle/dripped on the end, so would Ya rekon move a lot of water With the bigger pipe then down to smaller tube which would give eaven pressure through to water more eavenly.. I'm only worried about pressure going through the timers then pushing all the way to the most furtherist plant

as long as you have fall the entire way too the plant i dont see any problems. cant wait to see it in action man

Soo I'm having trouble with soil, I've got shot loads of mix for super soil make up and I was going to put it in 50/50 with top soil that's already in the area...the problem is, there ain't no soil at my plot... There's no soil at all, just rocks and lots of em.. So I need some way of bringing in ALOT of soil from 200-300 meters away... Or I was wondering will mixing it 50/50 with coco coir be alright coz I can get them in bricks and expand em out there? Any suggestions?

coco coir, bags of mushroom compost or garden soil would all work. the cheaper brands wont contain any slow release or added nutes but will contain small woodchips to space the product out. remember to add something to help with drainage (perlite or vamiculite) especially with coco as it will hold a shit ton of water

I can get mushroom compost at $3 for a 20kg bag, could I use just that at 50% mushroom compost with 50% super soil mix I've made up? I'm just worried it will be to hot for the plants or is there not much in shroom compost?.. I've got 100L of perlite to mix in aswel

its pretty mush whats leftover from growing mushrooms. the mushrooms remove most of the nutrients in there grow cycle so its pretty safe. you may want to hot compost it if your getting it fresh to remove any pathogens.

Yeah righto thanks, other wise I been searching trying to find like a back pack bucket lol.. Something that could hold around 50-60kg worth of dirt so I could back pack it in from a grass/swamp area about 200 meters away, I've carryed 100kg on my back over 2km before so I know I can take the weight.. the hard part is getting it up and on, but 50kg should be no worries.. Any ideas?, a drum or garbage can with a flat side that I can put shoulder straps on be the go but I can't find anything

So I went out today And put up a fence (attempted to cAmo it which Actualy works well from a distance!) and finished off the soil in my holes, the holes are about a meter wide and hip hight deep when standing in it lol, ended up with 4 females out of seedlings I scored from a friend a while back, have cut those down to 10 plants total, they have had a few weeks pre growing to give em a good start, few touch ups tomorrow and finish off irrigation work, hopefully the first girls will be out next weekend!
