Ok buying 20 seeds, going to plant 10 this year and 10 next!!!! ( i will get some more seeds from 1 female plant) but anyway, i have my place picked out it is in a marsh, fairly wet. MY PLAN:
dig holes in the ground for my plants (10 plants) put a tarp or something else in the holes to keep roots in soil ( possibly plastic bags)
well anyway my question to you is how much 40lb bags of potting soil will i need for 10 plants?????? and should i put it all in one hole or put an induvidual hole for each plant?????? i will be putting the seeds in the soil as soon as there done germing... and would the same soil from seedling to finished product be safe??? because there is no way ill be able to change soil. I could add some nutrients to water, but not anythingbought from the store, just natural........ Does this sound like a good plan???? please please help.... and one last question... when does the pollen come out on the male plants??? and as soon as the pollen comes out, is it dangerous to have it near my female plants?? ( i want 1 female to produce seeds) the rest just bud,,,
PLEASE READ THROUGH THE TOP PART...
- How big should i dig a hole in the ground for 1 plant???? how wide and deep?
- How much soil will it take for 1 plant??? ( i will x by 10 to get final amount)???
- is it ok to use the same potting soil from start to finished product????
- Is it alright to put the germinated seed straight into the ground in the potting soil and expect it to grow to finished product without changing soil???
- When do the males release pollen???
- Is it safe to have males with pollen near females???i want to just pollinate 1 female plant not all of them
PLEASE ANWSER ALL OF MY QUESTIONS, IF THEY ALL GET ANWSERED I WILL +REP ALL OF YOU WHO HELPED, MULTIPLE TIMES (3 TIMES) AND LIKE ALL YOUR COMMENTS
PLEASE HELP :cry::cry:
All will be done outdoors in the elements, and shouldi chop the males down after im done with em???

holes in "marsh, fairly wet" areas sound like ponds to me...
also corso is right the more you start with the more you CAN end up with...
alot of your questions are personal opinion...

How big should i dig a hole in the ground for 1 plant???? how wide and deep? imo hella big
- How much soil will it take for 1 plant??? ( i will x by 10 to get final amount)???
(i use like 18-100 gallons per plant)
- is it ok to use the same potting soil from start to finished product????
(yeah)
- Is it alright to put the germinated seed straight into the ground in the potting soil and expect it to grow to finished product without changing soil???
(why would you change?)
- When do the males release pollen???
(after they show balls...)
- Is it safe to have males with pollen near females???i want to just pollinate 1 female plant not all of them
(nope...you might want to only have one branch on the male..)

Don't know what your season is like out there newfie but I'd go with above ground pots in a marsh. Plants will rot and die if the ground is too wet but with pots your plants can establish roots in dry nutrient filled soil and drop tap roots into the ground below to get moisture. just an idea though. Also if you dig a hole in the marsh and it partially fills with water the ground is too wet.

Damn... I cant afford pots atm? then again how much does a 10 litre pot cost??? maybe a stream bank would be a etter choice to plant them

If you were true guerrilla you plant all 20 this year.
I second this. The reason being is knowing what to do in everything that happens is one thing. Knowing what NOT to do is the most important thing imo. I don't even want to think about how many seedlings, vegging plants, and even flowering plants I've flat out murdered and had to take my lumps.
You're going to lose plants. Be it by your own hand or the forces of nature.
It'll also give you more to practice different things on. Like topping, femming and LSTing. That way you can put these methods to use and see first hand what the effects are. You can see what works for you so you can apply it in the future. Different strokes for different folks you know?
Doing things outdoors you're bound by the timeframe of the seasons. Everything you don't try this year you'll have to wonder about for an entire winter.Trust me you'll wish you had come fall and harvest time. Hell you can hock off an OZ of your final harvest and replace your beans easily.
Even if you don't plant your good beans. At least save up some bag seed and have those for your hard core experimenting.
That's just my 2GP.

If you can find a spot to keep em to mid july lots of garden centers leave out large hard plastic buckets perfect as pots... Just drill some holes and youre gravy. I got like 20 last year one night.

A stream location is ideal thats where I'm looking to put some
