Guerilla grow - nutrient question (osmocote)

Hi all, New here, and was wondering if anyone could offer some advice as far as Osmocote (time release fertilizer). I've come across numerous threads of people saying they've used it in the past and works great, but no one has said exactly how much should be used on one plant. I believe the package says you should use one yellow spoon per 2' x 2' area (for tomatoes), so Im assuming its saying only for top dress. This is based on the 14-14-14 kind. People in other threads have said theyve done both, top dress and mixed in the soil, others have said crush up the pellets and mix in, etc etc. So my question is, how much should I use per plant? Im thinking of doing a 3' x 3' x 3' holes per plant. Any info, prior experience would be greatly appreciated!

Osmocote works great but I defiantely wouldnt crush them. They are resin embedded with nutrients as you water they release nutrients thus you wouldnt want to crush them, it defeats the slow release purpose. It is "near" impossible to burn with osmocote they are buffered. I would use 1 1/2 to 2 for a hole that size. I usually do mines mixing a third in the soil and the rest as a top dress. Some people do the opposite but the effects are similar.

Yo, thanks for the response! When you say 1 1/2 to 2, what are you referring to? Tablespoons or the yellow spoons that it comes with? Anyone else have any experience? The more the merrier..
