i know 2 greek people. one's last name is papadapolous, the other is panagapolous. no joke,

but i don't really know much about this but the one thing that i can tell you is when you do visit your hopeful girls, never take the same route more than once. i had small grow [5-6 plants] but it got busted [not by cops] because i went back the same way everyday and made a beaten path. this just leaves a trail of breadcrumbs for someone to find your babies
Agreed but i grew mine in the middle of some nettles and bushes, leaving a path i noticed too late and the next day she was gone :(

Time goes by and there are many things to do still most preparations are finished. I have all the seeds I will be planting that is 10 feminized PPP seeds 14 top44 seeds (These will probably produce really good weed) and many skunk seeds (about 40). I decided to start them indoors to increase their chances of survival and then transplant. I also decided to start even earlier than april and begin mid-march. Those plats are gonna have a 4 month vegging period and I expect them to be somewhat huge!

Can't wait to see your grow,PEACE PERICLES T. STATIRAS

Thanks for all comments from everyone! From now on it will start getting interesting!

The seedlings hatched to a success rate to about 70%. I currently have 38 little plants total planted in soil and grown indoor for 3 days now. I still have some seeds that have not hatched and some planted but not progressing but I am generally happy till now!
Here is their first time in soil:

This is the spot I m gonna be using to grow them for at least 3 weeks to maybe a month to give them a good start for the outside world!(The lamp showing is not for the plants!!)

The indoor growbox although not complete is functional. When I m finished with it its gonna be very stealth (the box was used for nothing in the past infact it was a screwed together box that didnt even have a hatch)

I currently use a 32watt coolwhite and a 20watt warmwhite cfl total 50watts I know its very little but without proper ventilation I will not raise the wattage... Remember the box is about 60cmX60cm and only 40cm high. 2 sq feet and 12 in high for u imperials... Tomorrow im gonna drill the wall next to the growbox and make two 2in holes that lead outside and fit atleast the exhaust with a small silent pc fan. So if i have enough time I will also install the rest of the cfls I bought that make up to 152watts wich is acceptable for the volume of the box. The lamps are mixed spetrum 80watts warm and 72watts coolwhite and if the ventilation proves enough maybe I will push it to 200watts adding some more I got.

Dont worry! the monster in the center is 2 weeks older tan the rest (couldnt wait to try some germing!) .Today I will finish adding reflective surface to the walls of the box for max efficiency. At this point I will say that I believe using mirror like surfaces with cfls can prove to be better than white paint or even white mylar because of the cfls low intensity. We shall see! This pic is from yesterday the black tape was removed and replaced with reflective tape and the box was perfectly lightproof.

The 10 feminised PPP seeds I bought lately were the fastest to germ (all of them in to days) and all of them became healthy little plants) They show their sativa phenotype (All the tallest plants are the PPP) in height. Yes I know theyre abit streched!

Well thats it lets see some nice comments maybe some suggestions?

You need to add those other lights and get them real close to the plants, about 2 inches from plant to bulb.

Look forward to following this, i lived an a greek island (rhodes) for 6 months only managed to smoke weed once when i was out there and was pretty good quality :)

I know im going to but first i have to vent that box properly or else the plants arent gonna be happy! Some of those plants are what we call greek weed a very potent mostly indica strain!

Heres a pic I took 5 mins ago, see the rflective tape...

Another one with the lamps in focus:

Thats it for now everyone tell me what u think ill update shortly... Anyone know or have any ideas on how to vent through 2 very small holes 2cm diameter? about 1 inch? I know ill use 1 for exhaust and 1 for intake but what about the fan? and what is the most efficient way to assemble it on the tube?

I'm not telling you something new that others will say but your plants are not happy now. Good genetics or not they need more light ASAP. Raise the plants or lower the lights as they are stretching like mad. That many plants will need several CFL's. I estimate 10-12, 42 watt 6500k, or get them in the ground...yesterday.

Im afraid I cant put that many lights in there... and also I do not plan to transplant outside yet... But I reckon that 150 maybe 200watts will be enough to veg these plants to 3-4 weeks old in such an enclosed space... Maybe Im wrong but I dont have a coice at the moment so Ill just have to do my best with what i have! Thanks for the tips even if i cant use them!

Heres some more pics of germination and planting:

All of these pics are a few days back but posted them anyway...

the people are right u need more lights those plants will not grow under those conditions they will stretch they will not fit in there and then?? go buy some more lights even if it increases temp.!! go buy a bathroom fan or 2 computer fans and then ul have temp under control anyway cfls dont give out so much heat!! and put the lamps very close or ul weeds will outgrow ur box and will look like makaroni trust me!!

Today I made the vent holes through the wall and intended to adjust the fan also, but it turned out I didnt have the right supply for it(one more thing to do tomorrow)... I hid the power cables that lead to the box and also added more lights. In total I now have 110watts. I know it is still not enough for that many plants but I believe it will at least it will stop them from streching... When the ventilation is complete I will add more lights bought up to a total of 150 maybe abit more up to 200watts max. I reckon more than enough for vegging in such a small box.

Heres a pic of the lights 1 40w cool 1 32w cool and 2 20w warm:

A pic of the plants today:

Another:

Some stuff I used today:

Another one. It might not look it but it is pretty bright in there, my eyes hurt!:

Any comments or tips? Dont tell me the obvious about lighting... I wanna hear smt new!

Ok look at these pictures of my plants a day or two back. The plants are streched so I added more lights to get rid of that problem.

But now another problem is threatening
them and this is harder to resolve. I currently run 3 20watt warm 1 40watt 1 32watt and 1 23watt coolwhite cfls a total of 155watts in a very small and short grow box.

I have not used a thermometer for exact readings but temps in there exceed 100F.

The solution to this problem usually is making a nice big hole in the growbox and adding a fan. Due to many factors I cannot make such a big hole in the box and all I can have is 2 2cm holes(about 1 inch). If anyone knows how I can reach about 20cfm through a pair of holes that small pls enlight me cause Im baffled (Im now searching for the principle behind vacuum cleaners)...

This is how I "tuned" my 80mm fan to fit the 1 inch hole. This system didnt work as I hoped it would and the air coming out of the box was alot less than needed. Not a good start here but I intend to fix it. I an growing too many plants in a very small space but I have to make this work and I will...! Now pls HELP!!!

your fan/funnel idea should work, you just have to get stuff better suited for it and seal the funnel, fan and hole airtight. What I would try is get a hose that will fit that hole good and have that attached to the funnel/fan. That way you can move the funnel/fan around provided you have a long enough hose. Maybe get a more powerful fan also. Seems like it should work

Thanks for the input!!! It turns out the problem is not fitting it exactly to the hole. The fan I use and all pc fans are not very good at sucking air. This happens because the fan is not adjusted closely to the walls of the fan case thus allowing the air that its trying to blow out to come back in again from the gap between the fan and the fan case walls and if I dont want to install a vacuum cleaner to the vent hole Ill have to improvise somehow...
Thanks again!

A Friend of mine had an idea to improve the amount of air exhausted by the fan. We place 2 80mm fans inside a cut plastic bottle. the neck of the bottle acted as a funnel to the air being pushed out. Heres some pics:

Here is how the grow box looks from the front:

But it turned out even that was not enough to ventilate the space properly... I am really annoyed with this problem. However I have 2 other fans that are smaller and noisier but push alot more air than the 80mm pc fans. Heres a pic:

The plants are looking pretty bad too as I have not been able to keep the lid of the box open often...

Put your lights horizontally as cfl's emit more light from the sides so it could help with your stretching problem :bigjoint:

Hey man thanks for the input but my main problem now is heat... Concerning the lights Im gonna make a screen for them to lay on so I can adjust their height easier...

This is 2 pics of the new exhaust unit I just made:

It might not look like much but it moves 10 times more air than the other with the pc fans.... although it is twice as noisy. But my plants are slowly dying if I get it right this time it will be a chance for them to revive. Look at this extensive heat damage:

Is there a chance the reflective surfaces of the box raise its temperature so much?

prota pola geia sou man kai mpravo pou fyteueis.i also believe that your plants have no future they look really bad in this box with these lights plus i'm not really sure that vegging with these lights and transplanting after a month in the sun is an option.then why start that early?and why so many plants?if your plan is sucessfull you will not be able to smoke or sell the weed you'll have.with 4 feminized seeds out in the sun you can have a kilo even if you start june 1.my choice would be to start sativas 15 may and indicas 1 may in small pots then transplant them in 30litre pots with good soil. use good kamouflaz and spray everything around them with bug poison.i don't know where you plan to grow but most hills in greece have very dry and full of rocks soil that makes the grow dificult also consider the possibility of police helicopters flying around especially during august so try not to grow giant trees.it is very easy to see a marijuana plant from a helicopter thats why they shoot at them in crete from random locations and nobody grows in roof buildings in big cities.good luck re man i hope you succeed but its risky indeed as the fellow greek said doesn't worth doing it according to me just grow 1-2 trees for yourself.:weed:
