There is a lot of helpful info on the site, also a google search might help ya out.
but here's a couple tips - give it lots of light, use lots of good soil, watch out for pests, make sure it gets enough water and nutrients, dont grow too many at a spot and be safe.

Lack of planning & not doing the homework is a major problem with most. You are already ahead with the planning, plus, it can be enjoyable. You'll want to save a lot of articles that you'll review time & time again. I've got pot related shit all over this computer. Not real smart. I think it would be better to burn the info on a CD, & hide it well. You'll also want a picture notebook to take with you outdoors to help figure out plant problems. See Hightimes.com, the outdoor growing section, also Greenmanspage.com. Goggle marijuana,Cannibus, Pot, Hemp, Weed, everything you can think of. Also cloning, rejuvenating, germination, all that shit. Personally, I only use organic. The Hydro shops charge high dollar for their products. The same quality supplies can be found at your local Nursery. To know & learn what you need & why you need it, listen to Gardening programs on the radio, usually on the weekends. It's amazing how much can be learned from a Master Gardener. Take notes. Find out why Green Sand is used, Epsom salt, whole ground cornmeal, fish emulsion, molasses. pepper-garlic spray, tobacco spray, Neem Oil, & Liquid Seaweed. All of this can be found either at the local Grocery store, or the Nursery. Pot is a heat-loving plant, just like tomatoes & peppers. Don't move your plants outside until it warm (hot)enough for peppers & tomatoes. Unless they get enough good light, they won't be as vigor as they could have been. They can survive a light freeze, in the Fall, depending on the strain. Figure out your outdoor growing time slot. Ideal germ time is Oct or Dec, so in April, the plants are at least a foot tall. Also see Dr. Doctor.com. Planting in pots or directly in the soil? For in-soil growing, getting you holes dug & filled with good compost etc. as soon as possible will give you good growing material. Red Wiggler worms are great for your soil, also. Water retention, I like Mossers Peat Moss. It holds 20 X's it own weight in water/ferts/nutes. A place where the wind is not blocked is important, as much sunlight from east to west is also important, just like tomatoes. Study growing tomatoes. Growing from seed to harvest is a lot of time & work. I only pick strains that has a high THC level, AND a very high yield. 900 to 1,500 grams per plant is available. I like the seed & price that KC Brains seed company sells. If you can get with a Construction Electrician, they run across good lighting systems that is usually thrown away during a demo job, or redo on buildings. Fans to. Research Praying Mantis, and try to collect some in the spring, for your plants. For a diverse grow, I LOVE the California Orange Bud-Sativa & the Afghan- Indica. I've got one Cali Orange that has been harvested twice, & is in the veg state now. It can get expensive, so buy smart over a time period and you can save a lot of money. Other than this site, tell NO ONE. Happy Journeys Dude, welcome to the family.

Only 3 to 5 in one area. You'll find all the info in your search. Look now to see what the surrounding vegetation looks like, to give you an idea of where to hide your plants. Each plot varies.

do not do pots!!!

do not skimp on camoflague in anyway... i learned that the hard way!! and trust me you dont like the hard way

find the most difficult to get to place with good sun light, try to pick a plant with light colored leaves as they blend in better with vegetation (dark leaves stick out)

try to have a water source close by

if your growing for personall use i suggust autoflowering strains, you get multiple harvests per year, they stay small and out of the way... im starting a grow with them right now

good luck
