Alright so it has been a few days, been running around a lot and been trying to spend time with my mother but alas the time has come to photograph and document the progress on my mothers...

first, we'll start with umm... my favorite- the SFV OG. :)

she continues to get larger... very nice, getting bushier... i love the leaves on this girl, very interesting shape, texture, etc. can't wait to clone this girl... will be nice to have an extra mother or two, and a few in flowering.

we'll continue on to my constant frustration -- the LA Confidential mother... GRR this thing continues to be the shrimp, and it's growth has not been impressive. I will definitely need to clone this one a few times if it continues to show this trait of slow growth. whatever... we'lll see what happens...

and my stretched out ready to clone sour diesel. this thing just seems to love growing... i wish i could get my other plants like this.

and finally the group shot of the mothers for later comparison...

yes it's constant... just feeding once a week right now, but have not experienced any problems with deficiency... i'll continue this schedule, it's pretty concrete so far... every sunday i feed about 200ml of water from a gallon feed of fox farm veg nutes...

so far so good... any more and I will burn them a little, which I don't want.

its probably just the pic then, cuz the tips of the leaves are lighter green then the rest of the leaf.

probably just a little burn, nothing serious... i've been feeding all three the same, and growth has been good and consistent, aside from the LA Confidential which was in flowering during clone.

Wow, looking real nice. I have the same setup as you minus the a/c, I just started my medical grow, you should stop by sometime. I'll need the help.

Hey there fellas, new guy stoppin' by. :)

Let me start out by saying those are some nice lookin' plants there, and a nice setup! I too have the pot envy as one poster mentioned. I can't wait to get my own setup going and get that learning curve down.

Next, let me express the passing of proposition 1 in Michigan just this week... WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Effin awesome!

So the point of my post...I've been thinking about doing my own thing for the past couple weeks now, street prices are starting to kill me. Anyway, I live in an apartment complex and my primary worry is the that oh-so-sweet smell. I was planning on building a nice discrete grow box and placing it in the far corner of my bedroom, but I still worry the smell will get out enough to the point where you can smell it in other rooms, or the entire apartment/building for that matter. I'm considering something small for starters, something like a 2'x2'x3' high box, completely sealed in, other than 3x 80mm fans at the top ventilating through a carbon filter and a smaller intake-type hole near the bottom, as well as 1x small fan internal, circulating the air. Considering a set-up like this, do I have good reason to worry about the smell or are homemade grow boxes (probably built from scratch of plywood, otherwise finding some filing cabinet, or even bathroom cabinet) ok? Dot he carbon filters truly destroy the smell or is it something that you can't rely and and simply helful to take care of most of the smell?

This is my one and only worry, my fiancee and I don't want to worry about having certain friends/family/apartment handyman over. I've done some research but I can't quite find anything describing how stinky/bad it can get with grow boxes. I figured maybe some first-hand help would be benficial.

Thanks in advance! :)

P.S. I'll take any and all links/tips/help to your best and favorite growing guides, etc :)

thanks for all of the kind words people :)

welcome to the forum new members...

in regards to apartment growing, this tray and veg tent is running in an apartment... the smell can get obvious inside, but with proper air filtration the smell will never be noticed outside...

in regards to family, friends, etc, that's something you'll need to figure out. all of the friends and family we ever have over are aware of our op, our patient status, and have been close to us for our entire lives... they'll never say a thing about it.

in regards to repairmen, etc... i break the grow down any time there is an inspection. it's a pain in the ass, but until we purchase our property which should be soon, I have to do a breakdown every 6 months... it could be worse.
