Growing indoors without the parents finding out

Hey guys, so I know this is kind of a hot topic and everything, and most people who ask about this kinda seem well.... Retarded. They don't provide correct or all the information to get an accurate response or one that would help them out, so with that being said I will be providing my exact situation and all the nuances of my living condition. So Im 18 and I live with my parents. I obviously have my own room but with that being said I'm planning on moving out this summer. The reason I'm looking to grow is mainly because it sounds like an extraordinary amount of fun and I like challenges and obviously alittle extra cash never hurt anyone Im not interested in growing outdoors or waiting to move out of my parents place, replying back to this thread with something along those lines is pointless and doesn't help anyone. This will be my first grow and I'm only wanting to do 1 or 2 plants, purely out of space restrictions and lessening me getting caught by the parents. I know the materials I need but I'm mainly looking for the location. I'm thinking in my 3 foot tall cupboard or in my closet. Any suggestions of where and how I can reduce the smell and honestly how to do the whole thing stealthily would be much appreciated.

If either of your parents have a decent sense of smell, you have no chance of not getting caught. This is coming from a dad that grows and his wife doesn't know (she and my daughter have no sense of smell, not kidding). My son is in cahoots with me and he's off at school now anyway. Just to give you an idea, I was having problems with my odor control and I went to play golf with a buddy of mine and he said when I got into the car that I smelled like pot. That was just from sitting in my house all day -- I didn't just come from the grow room or anything like that.

Now the strain you grow makes a big difference. Some strains smell super strong and others not so much. But if either of your parents has good sense of smell, I doubt you can get by.

Yea and thats one of the main reasons why ive prolonged this grop op for so long, the smell and the sounds and really just being scared to do it. I have a small dresser, and I do mean small ( only alittle over a foot 3/4 tall ) but its wide enough and deep enough. I only want to do one plant now that im thinking about it. Im gonna get some sort of filter and then some ozium and those gel block things. But honestly how dank can one small plant be?

You'd be surprised. I have a black pearl (sative dom, skunky) plant that I revegged. Just that one plant with about 6 inches of growth puts off a bunch of smell. I just got through putting in a DIY odor filter that used about $80 worth of activated carbon. We'll see how it goes.

When I was growing just blueberry (indica dom, mild odor) it wasn't nearly as bad. But it still put off a distinctive smell than anyone with a sensitive nose could detect. Heat and odor control will be your biggest problems (not to mention noise).

Brand new trash barrel with a lid. light on top,(sealed) hose in hanging down two inches, another hose on the other side pushed down almost to the bottom (sealed) The one hanging down as intake, the one only two inches air out with a quiet computer fan sucking it out the window you will put it under. Stuffed animal on it or a clever disguise you come up with.

Something to ponder,...just a suggestion.

Not worth the time or effort...im 18 moved out a year ago i stopped smoking bud for 2 years and when i moved out i started smoking and growing...dont be a asshole and disrespect ur parents have patience

It prob wont be worth the stress. I do it in the comfort of my own home with no one to hide it from, and it still makes me nervous as hell.

That being said, I am sure you have thought it out and made your mind so you can check out these stealth boxes on eBay. Your best bet prob. Most come with carbon filters for odor control. They come in empty speaker casings, PC cases, mini fridges and everything.

I agree with everyone saying dont do it/its gonna be almost too hard to be worth it.

However, that being said, Ill def give you my two cents. BC when I was that age, and wanted something I made that shit happen somehow or be damn upset if it failed.. actually now that i said that... Im still the same way...

anyway, that trash can idea that oddball gave is ok. But yea, youd have too be real crafty in disguising it...
I have done a few super stealthy grows but without the risk of mommy gettin cuffed if i got caught somehow, only roomates to hide it from.
My first grow was one plant in an apartment with 3 other ppl living there. what I did was buy some bed risers so I had a few more inches (like 6in) to work with. I moved my bed so it was smack in the corner of the room next to my window. I build a ''box'' that was L shaped to box off the back cornerunder my bed. The I got a few painters tarps and wrapped the ever living fuck out of everything inside the box, like double, tripple, etc.. layers. I put a fan in my window so it looked like, just a fan in the window.. and when I was sure no one was gonna just come strollin into my room I would attach ducting to it that came from my box under the bed. and the fan blew the smell out a good bit.
Bc of the small vertical space I did A LOT of research and learned how to grow beforehand and how to bend my plant so the vertical profile was not exceeding what I had to work with.. Cfls would def be your "sun" and they work good with the bending tech bc they can be super close to the plant, can easily be moved, and can be put below the the plant when it grows tall enought to bend over the pot rim... make sense?

now my apartment mates knew I smoked and most of them did too. so smell was just easily written off by saying, damn we smoke a lot a weed!!

in your case, you can get a regular airfilter and then go buy a full house carbon filter for like less than ten bucks. Cut that bitch up to the filter size and youll have like 4 mini carbon filters to stack up.. shove it in the air filter and boom. diy air scrubber. I actually just did that and it works fuckin great for a very small space.

oh and one more thing, dont tell a single person. no gf no best friend youve known forever NO ONE. Its not worth it trust.. not that tell will narc or steal, but ppl fuck up, and its best to limit your failure to just the chances of you and only you fuckin up. Plus, you feel bad ass w/ not a soul knowing what you got goin on!!

Just wait till you move out.... like really when you have your own place its only ur risk growing at your parents puts them at risk too not worth it..

Don't do it in that cabinet, there wont be enough room and you will burn your parents house down, even if you do have room the yield will be nothing and this money you want won't come out and you will forever be discouraged from growing. You are looking to spend more on odor control than that little plant could ever yield under cfl, your only real choice for light since hid are too hot and led too expensive. If this is something you really want to do go with the garbage can idea with tubes down the side for supplement but I would just save your pennies and do it legit, too many times I sat in hs english class reading ed r's book wanting to be doing the damn thing already just to realize that time of gaining knowledge served me well in the long run.

Your being young and dumb. There is no way your going to grow enough to smoke without the people in house knowing about it. Maybe for a few days but not for a few months. If you get busted and are a minor they will be charged. You need to get out on your own and take that risk on your own.

The best case scenario is you get 9 grams of mediocre weed after months of work, stress and money. I tried growing in my parents house and got repeatedly caught by my mom. I never made it to harvest but if I had it would have been garbage bud.

i would need to pull the air out fastby fans from grow tent or box to a window or attic without ducting being seen or fans being heard dont thats going to happen hell just ask them if its ok to grow if you split the harvest with them there mite be waiting for you to leave so that they can strart to grow lol

Respecting your parents is respecting yourself, if your parents specifically told you no (I really dont think they were asked) then it would be disrespecting to the fullest point. But keep in mind if you get busted and your parents are in control of the home IT can be taken and parents arrested for your "little extra money" project. I have an 18 year old son and if he did something this big without my knowledge I would feel very disrespected and would lose all trust in my son. Think before you destroy trust.......

What you don't realize, is that even if you stand right in front of the cop, and tell him it is your plant, and your parents know NOTHING about it, the house or lease is in their name, and they will get charged with it, especially if you are a minor.

Female seeds C99....from what im hearing, it puts off no smell (pretty sure it must be faint) if your going to do it, be prepared to do it with the right shit. Dont start duct taping shit and wonder later why you got caught. Get that strain and find a spot for it...
