growing in the shade...?

i've recently transplanted my plant from a pot to the ground. now the only place i could put it was in a corner of my backyard where neighbors can't see it. the problem is that there is alot of trees in the area and the sunlight is being blocked out by the branches and leaves of the tree (for the most part). now i figured it was fine because there are green bushes in the area and figured there has to be enough light. but it seems to be shaded most of the time and i'm afraid my plant will suffer because of it. should i transplant it to a different area or will it be fine?

it's been a couple of days since the transplant and everything seems okay...but the soil is still wet from a watering 1 days ago. i'm worried. feeedback is appreciated

I actually was forced to do this due to it being too hot in direct sunlight where I am. They are growing ALOT faster now with mostly indirect sunlight.

Interesting, I have a plant that is hidden in about 50% shade (through some skimpy trees), and it looks healthier than all my others which only spend about an hour total in shade every day. But it's crazy hot here (up to ~100F during the day). Next grow I think I'm going to try to set-up the spots so my plants receive some shade during the hottest part of the day at least.

No they won't be okay there, they need direct light.

If inbox posts pictures of his that "grow faster in the shade" I guarantee they will be of some stretched out, stringy plants that would fall over if they ever made it to bud.

I grew some in a shady area and the buds were scraggly, the only dense nugs were rotten. You need the sunlight to dry off the morning dew.

I'm planning on pruning some of the surrounding foliage eventually to increase direct light. I planted a couple in that spot just as some insurance in case there is a hurricane (or two or three) this year that gets my others. That spot is well protected from the wind and it is also elevated by a few feet from the surrounding area in case of some flooding. Hope I get something decent out of it in the end in any case. :hump:

dude i grew unbder the shade of multiple trees and had plants in the six and seven foot range. they will be fine. dont stress out riu friend. your doing great

Im down here in the south too... 2 of 5 new seedlings burned up this past week after 3 days of my friend Paco not watering them.

I am going to recommend to Paco that he put them in a spot that will get a little shade every once and awhile.
