Growing in plain view?

Trimmed leaves and there all doing fine, already harvested 2 of the 3!!!
we are well aware of the fact that the plants will still finish their life cycles with fan leaves trimmed. what people who trim off fan leaves dont understand is that they will have bigger buds if they leave the fan leaves intact. buds cant grow as large or quickly without fan leaves which bring in most of the energy.

I dont think those lowryders would have gotten hardly any bigger, the average yield is between 14 and 28 grams!!! My 2 yielded almost 200 grams wet. I have seen lowryders on the autoflower thread with the leaves still intact that hardly yield 14 grams. If you dont care that you get sunlight to all the lower buds then leave your leaves intact, but without the lower buds receiving reasonable light your plant will only yield one okay sized cola( and a few small sized buds)!!! I do not see any measurable diff between leaving leaves full and trimming them!!!With people praying that there ak turns out like mine, I will stick with trimming the leafs, because my buds are still swelling up!!! Good luck to everyone, may your harvest be fruitful.

Talking of lowryders, why not put some autoflower dwarf strains in amongst your other plants? That could reduce the risk a bit.

Look man I dont want any problems, I tried it and it worked, twice!!! I told him to ask a pro first, Im just posting my opinion for him to look into!!! People trim nearly all the leaves off during budding, for better light penetration!!! If Im wrong plz feel free to correct me.
only cutting off half the leaves really won't hurt the plant at all

Put them with the tomatoes & like natrone23 said.Buy some small green & red balls from a craft store.Hang these balls all over the plants to look like a cherry tomatoe plant.Good luck & happy growing.

god! why does this terrible advise keep circulating?

thats like taking the stomach of a perfectly healthy person and having thier stomach stapled...sure theyll live, but they wont be able to process as much food and thier health will suffer. they will lose weight and thier performance will suffer.

your leaves are the solar power production facilities of your plant, buds are the power storage facilites. eliminate one and the need for the other diminishes.

buds are flowers and the leaves are the solar panels collecting the suns energy that grow the flowers. removing the leaves will do nothing but slow the growth of your buds during flower. too many people forget that pot is just a normal flowering plant and is just like your mothers flowers in her garden. generally people who do this do not have the slightest clue about how plants work.

the only time it would be wise to trim some leaves is when they are too big and are touching buds. this can cause mold so a few leaves may be trimmed but would be better to tie them up.
Does trimming a few fan leaves and small branches off during later flowering not stress the plant into producing fatter more resinous buds?

Correct me if im wrong here lads.

i dont think so. definetly not the fan leaves. and i trim away any small underbranches before flower, if they are never there to begin with the plant makes bigger buds from the beginning. why would you spend light, time, and nutes growing something your going to cut off?

no ;-)

the only plant material you should be trimming from the plant is the stuff that is dying. the plant will divert energy to the unhealthy leaves/stalks robbing energy from your buds so its best to trim those. the energy soaked up by the fan leaves will get used up at the damaged site instead of growing larger buds. but after so long the plant will give up on the damaged leaves and cut off all energy. trimming just speeds the process.

also, more powerful lights give you bigger buds because more energy is being offered to the plant. the fan leaves are able to absorb much more energy from a bigger light allowing the plant to grow bigger buds.

the people who trim healthy fan leaves forget about 1 very important thing...EVOLUTION. the plant has evolved over thousands of years into what we see today and fan leaves are an important part of the puzzle. :blsmoke:

if you cut off all your fingertips at the first knuckle and lop off your legs halfway down your shin people might think your a midget.

maybe ask a doctor first to see if this is harmful though.:wall:
Lol! Ya I dont see that being so good for the plants :dunce:

Well, not to be too obvious, but I'd be careful not to plant too close to a walkway or an alley. Even if they're behind a fence, it's amazing how easily someone strolling through the hood can catch a whiff if the wind is right.

Plant them with the tomatoes, keep them close together, blend right in. Treat both equaly, if you have bad tomatoes the plants will stick out
