Growing in New England. How cold is too cold?

So i have some plants that are about a month old now. I moved them outside about a week ago during a couple days when it was in the 80s. I checked back up on them in a couple days and they are doin great.

In a couple days the temp is suppost to drop to like 34 degrees at night. Is that gonna do some serious damage?! They them to have been doin' fine in low 50's and high 40's.

I was thinkin about covering them w/ a blanket for the night. Can that suffocate them?

You can't really suffocate a plant. So a blanket would be fine.

I'd only really be concerned about covering them up if there was a chance of frost. The cold might slow the growth a bit, but they would be fine.
