Watch all of his videos. This is by far one of the best outdoor video/biographies i have ever watched.

Alright. but about the pine tree thing can you please explain that?
Im from Michigan & have had good crops of Big Bud as well as Top 44 Skunk .

As allready pointed out you should not put your patch in any old growth pine sections of the forest or woods as the soil is not right for your needs ,if your not planting a plantation sized patch anywhere with decent sunlight will be ok.
Try & stay away from low lying areas that are prone to flooding.

I try & find locations that are not full sun locations for several reasons,in Michigan our season length sucks ass & is too short for many strains other than pure indica strains or predomanately indica strains, full sun areas tend to keep my plants vegging too long, since ive learned to look for partial sun areas my out of doors harvests have become more potent.

Ive had excellent results in keeping large varmints like deer away with common fishing line woven around neerby growth,it seems to freak the deer out & they go around instead of bulldozing right through.

Also keep in mind that in lower Michigan the helocoptors start flyby's in september over wooded areas that are cose to the larger citys like Detroit,Flint & Grand Rapids.

i also live in Michigan and last year i had an awesome grow. i had one plant from a bag seed and even though our season short my babe was like 6 ft and prolly yielded close 2 a pound. the best way 2 keep away deer and rabbits is if you have a dog bring it with you and let is piss near your crop. i also too would frequently piss around the perimeter of where your growing. cant wait for 2010 season

Don't rely on any type of a smell barrier! I've tried them all and had my plants munched on many times...The only things that worked for me were spraying my plants down with a homemade cayenne pepper spray, and a fishing line fence. Deer will get used to the smell of your hair and/or piss and will eventually eat your plants.

Deer...Watch out for the fucking deer. They'll want your weed just days before it's ready.Use wolf urine, tie Irish Spring soap to the bushs around your grow.If possible wrap your grow sight with fishing line. And anything else that makes them think humans are around...do it.Good Luck
