Growing in Japan ? Need Advices and Knowledge !

High Everybody !

I am BlackBuddha, I've only been growing for a year now and I definitely enjoy it.

However, I might move to Tokyo for a job and I wanted to know if any of you knew about it or even got info as a grower that could be useful once I get there.
I do not plan to grow many plants there, just enough for me.

I dont think it will be hard to grow over there as long as I bring my own seeds. I mean, you can find good soil and lighting equipment (like CFLs) anywhere around the world. And I would prefer growing it myself (organic way) instead of trying to get it from the streets (no way).


Important facts that I heard :

- The only people allowed to grow it are licensed growers and researchers.
- Law inforcement does not play with MJ, it is considered "super illegal" like any other drug (between 5 to 10 years depending on the so-called crime).
- It is not the easiest country where you can get weed, very risky !
- Prices are expensive (so I wont buy lol) !


If it would be too much of a b***h to grow, I'll just forget about it and get high when I'll travel overseas.

What do yall think ??

If you did I would do a really small, super stealth grow at first. They'll probably behead you or something if you get caught....maybe cut off a hand or finger or. If you're going to have your own house and only grow a few plants for yourself, you're probably ok.

My uncle lives in Japan, and he says that it's hard to find many people who smoke. I'm sure they're there, but the market is different over there.

Yeah, that's my plan, small grow since I dont wanna get caught (especially over there).

I knew that there would be only a few people able to help me with this dilemma. As you said weed is not accessible to anybody, plus I dont think that most Japanese have a good opinion concerning Lady Mary-Jane...

Ok, now I am starting all the preparations for moving over there.
I am going to order a whole bunch of seeds before going over there (NYC Diesel, Lemon Haze, Burmese, Jack Horror & Fucking Incredible) and start a super-stealth grow in my future apartment.

One question is bothering me though :

- Should I pack them in my luggage or have someone who could send it to me by mail ?

No need to know about Japan to answer, I just need a few comments and answers to make a decision. I got a month and half left.

I think if you are moveing to japan you might be able to do a little better than cfl's.Also best to keep any growing operation that you are doing to you and you alone tell no one.Stick to site's like this one for all the advice and guidence needed.Look for some h.p.s light's this will increase the yeild that you get by 100%...............................tyke............................................

Nobody will know about this.

I think I might order two Aerogardens once I will be over there. I'll put them in a closet.
I might use a HPS but the easiest to find when I'll get there will be CFL I suppose.

Any idea for bringing the seeds with me ? Or should I ask for someone to send them to me ?

Is it worth spending 5-10 years in prison if you get busted? Just seems awfully risky.

Buy a stick of your favorite deodorant open it and screw the deodorant up till it it wants to fall out. remove the deodorant and the piece of plastic that holds it. put seeds in a small bag and smear the small bag with deodorant. Put bag in the deodorant cylinder and put plastic and deodorant stick back on and screw it all the way down. Put it in your bag with all the rest of your toiletries. Done... I used this to bring back weed from Amsterdam post 911. Its best to use a larger stick of deodorant something like Old Spice.

I have a roommate whos a japanese linguistics major. He spent a year over there and said he only smoked once. From what he tells me could happen for possession of a few grams (2+ years) I couldnt bring myself to grow there. Just my opinion. Either way hope you have a good time over there

I actually just watched a documentary about activists growing weed in Japan.
It was simply a reality check... I won't do anything over there unless Japan change its marijuana laws (which is not gonna happen anytime soon I guess).

It's messed up because I don't drink, don't smoke cigarettes and weed is my only fun substance lol.
Well maybe I'll ask some friends to send me space cakes lol.

Hello there. Lived in Japan for 4 years. I'd say, if you can keep it stealth, no problem. Police won't interfere with normal citizens / residents UNLESS they have a reason. But, if you happen to be busted, you will find yourself in deep shit (for a very long time) my friend. So I'd suggest, start drinkin' at least while in Japan. And don't you ever attempt to have anything shipped from abroad. I don't know how many interrogations I interpreted in were due to a suspicious package getting cought in XRay -but there were many... Few lucky ones got only deported, many were imprisoned. DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING SHIPPED TO YOU. Even growing or even buying it on the street is safer than mail if you are living in Japan. Good Luck with your Gaijin life dude

Oh by the way, on all 3 of my 3 recent visits to Japan, they had dog check. They quitely walked a dog around us and around our baggage. Just for your information.

I dont really care about the dog searches because I NEVER carry any weed on me, except in my car but I got a secret compartment to hide my weed.

I guess I will imporvise when I'll get there. Buying in the streets is not my thing, especially over there because a gaijin attracts a lot of attention.
Don't know about drinking, don't like the taste, the feeling and hate the hangover lol. With weed, you can smoke one full of sativa and have the hell of a good time especially at night (Food, dancing, laughing, girls...). But that's my point of view.
When I got to drink it's more of a "social thing" than anything else (WoRk....).

Maybe I could find a delivery weedman once I get there !
