Growing in conditions 2013 summer

Hey, ive been smoking pipe and blunt and joint for quite a while now, i got some seeds off a buddy a couple of years back, not knowing they were meant for the indoors of course i grew em outdoors. The damn thins died in just a few weeks , well anyway since i have no way of growing indoors i have gathered info about a certain strain, i choose this one to plant outdoors.

It is an autoflowering seed that looks like the best i can find for the growing conditions here. I wondering if i will have sucsess, and how to avoid budrot, and mold. here are the details:
I live on the southwest coast of Newfoundland (Eastern Canada)
In summer It can be fairly dry, or fairly wet (usually half and half)
The humidity is rather high, around 80% and temp in summer is around mid 20s and late 20s in degrees celcius.
the last frost is around may 30th.
I plan on planting them in a marsh where the sun can get at em, and it is fairly moist., ill plant em around june 1st.
Here are the questions.
What to do if i have budrot or mold?, and how to avoid it?
What soil should i use? and should i use fertilizer?
what animals would eat the plants? (rabbits, moose coyotes etc etc...)
and the last question..., do you think this is a good strain for my growing conditions? i did a lot of research lol and this is the best i can find., oh and is marijuana-seeds-canada a reliable site? ????? thankss

Hey fellow Canuck. I got hit with budrot/mold last season it sucked.. Theres not a whole lot you can do but get a mold resistant strain. Thats what I'm going to get for this seasons crop. Another thing I look into was a product cold Serenade, apparently it has a type of bacteria that eats away at mold or prevents it. I believe its called C.Bacillus. Idk, it might help idk yet. Another thing is maybe trimming some fan leaves a bit to let more air get through the plant so that the buds can breathe a little more. My buds were fat but couldnt breathe due to humidity and rain..

I also got hit with animals too, I am thinking a skunk was the culprit. It went for the bugs that moved into the good soil I planted with. After I put a plastic mesh fence up around the crop and they were never dug up again.

Strain wise, try going with an indica dominant strain cause I believe in Canada out grow season is shorter.

The strain I am using primarily is Skunk #1. Apparently its mold resistant and has indica like traits from cross breeding and its a high yielder. I may do a few of green crack which molded on me last year. All I know is those buds need to breathe!

Advice, invest in a fence its worth it.
I don't have experience with autoflowers but I would think they yield less than photogenic plants.

My frost dates are from roughly April 28 - Nov 20 in Ontario.

I'm not to sure about training autoflowers, but if it's viable then id say top above the 3rd node for 8 tops.. and tie them down to get some airflow through that bitch

I grew a couple auto's early last year, diesel ryder (solid) and some auto AK from grassomatic (terrible!), definitely no real time to train them and I would strongly recommend against topping/fimming as they'll be going into full flower mode before the plant has even had a chance to redistribute its growth.

Yo guys, sorry for my very late response havent been on here in a while, but if possible can you guys give me some directions up here, on what plant would be good for my conditions, yeah im not the veteran grower as you can see lol, but i would like a type of weed that releases your creativity, Buckethead, thanks for the reply man!, and yeah when i grow ill definately fence that shit up!, but the main priority here is finding a strain that is easy to handle! thanks again for the replies guys!

I'm growing in south-eastern quebec right by border, my frost dates are about may 20-sept 20 not quite sure. Last year started some outdoors ndend of may but got unexpected snow in june which killed them. I wasn't very prepared last year grew 11 plants planted by june 20,but I wasn't thinkin ahead and by september sun was cut from bout 9-10 hours a day to bout 5 hours due to trees. This year started early have some germinated and planted 12 yesterday in solo cups indoor under flouro lights. Last year I was lucky I grew in native soil in a field connected to a stream, the soil was black and thick. This year I moved and can't grow there so I have to grow smewhere where soil is not as good. Want to know What kind of soil i should use and should I mix it native soil?also I have a lot of corn fields where I live shouldi grow in a corn field or clearing in woods ? Also by mid october rain is frequent and some ofmy plants don't finish till mid nov soare their any counters to budmold? I would appreciate any advice from experienced growers, it is my second grow and expect more success than that of last year. The seeds are from jamaica 2 years ago they got smuggled here it was sopposed to be only 4 strains when it was bought but all plants seem to be different.

I don't think there is such thing like an exclusive indoor or outdoor strain. Everything can grow indoors can outdoors too & reverse. I never had grow an autoflower either but i don't remember even 1 person to say that they are even the same as good as photoperiods. Photos FTW. Also, me too, didn't heard good things about training autos.

What soil should i use? -> There're a lot of brands like FFOF, Pro-mix HP etc.. & a lot of homemade recipes. Search it. You can also just ask soil for tomatoe plants.
what animals would eat the plants? (rabbits, moose coyotes etc etc...) -> I had only problems with wild boars cuz they trampled a plant of mine once & i hear them & see them a lot in my area, but i had read also about deers & rabbits.

Im in the same climate zone then you are. I picked Afghan Kush Ryder for my outdoors grow this year ( and maybe some auto northen light). They will start indoor under CFL for the end of june. They will go out in the start of july and should finish in the end of summer. My main question is should i use any fertilizer, thinking about droping some 10-10-10 fertilizer when i plant them and 4 weeks after. Not sure about training them.. some say it is okay, but i probly wount, dont know for sure.. Has anyone used any fertilizers for growin autoflowers outdoor ?

I am in the same climate zone as well in Canada and will be planting in a marsh this year. I'm using mainly smart pots hoping they will just naturally wick up the water in a marshy area, water table is about 4-6 inches below survace, also have some pots dug into the ground with about a foot above ground slightly touching the water table. Mixed peat moss, compost/manure, perlite and dolomite lime to help adjust pH. Hopefully this works, it's my first time in a marsh or bog.
