Growing hybrids vs. straight indica's and Sativa's?

I am trying to plan my next grow,and hoping to get some good advise.I like hybrids,but I have some seeds from Durban Poison (sativa),and Afghan Kush (indica).Is there much of a difference between smoking a hybrid vs. mixing sativa's with indica's after they have been harvested?Seems like you could experiment with the ratio's to sort of make a hybrid with the desired effect?Just curious if anyone here mixes their weed prior to smoking?If it doesn't work very well,then I will probably just grow hybrids next time around.

For sure you can mix your own hybrid smoke by blending and I for one do this often. If I want a Sativa with a little CBD for pain also I mix some cbd in. That is what I did before I got my hands on a strain I love also. But it is so much better to have a smoke come off the bush ready for it's purpose. That's why I like OG Kush and variants because it gives me that awesome head high, sense of well being, motivates me to do stuff but while at the same time it relaxes my mind which loves to run over drive.

For now of course blend. But your primary goal is to find strains the fit this bill right off the bush.

Big difference I feel when you mix 2 or more strains post budding versus getting that premium hybrid blend you're looking for

once I mixed 10 or more different kinds and omg . it was a feeling being pull all over every where and it had a hallucinations effect . all night I watch darkvador have a sabor fight with luke skywalker it was one of a kind never duplicated it . the next morning I went out to look and see what the hell I was looking at and there was only a street light and a wire . very strange things happen if you can mix them up . any ways my point is no matter what you grow you can always mix them many different ways .

Best salad I ever had was 17 different strains Kief all mixed together, Oh what a ride

I guess if you are using a pipe or bong you will be fine but I find that mixing buds in a spliff can cause it to run because different density buds burn a different rates. I had 2 great og's a couple grows back and mixing them was awesome but if I mixed them in a spliff it would always run.
