i am going to start a new grow outdoors in 09' in the woods. i wanted to know could i keep tying the plant down so that it would grow horizontal instead of vertical? and would it increase my yeild?

Yes its very possible and yes it will yield good or maybe better then a untrained plant with less light getting into the center of the plant,Look in the grow faqs about LST
