Growing Cucumbers Up A Trellis

ok so i know there are 2 kinds of cuke plants, bush and vine. i have no idea which my seeds are. but assuming they are the kind i can grow up a trellis or fence, how do i plan for how much room they will take up? i've never seen cukes grown on a trellis, just along the ground, and the whole point of using the trellis is to conserve space. i'm having a bitch of a time finding decent info and pics on google. anyone have any pics or tips for me? basically i am wondering roughly how many square feet i can expect to lose to a cucumber plant that is growing upwards

any cucumber plant should be able to vine up a trellis.
i think it would save alot of space, i had 1 plant last year in a 10x4 raised bed and it grew the length of the box and much wider.

i say go for it, it shouldnt be that hard to vine them manually for the first few weeks and after that they should grow up it by them selfs

dad grows them up a vine. no pictures sorry but they take up probably about a foot in width by the entire length that you plant it. his trellis is about 4' long and it's like /\/\/\ so that in each section there is another cucumber plant. it's not as steep of an angle as it looks here, but i'm sure you get the picture.

i grow my cukes on a 4' fence, spacing the plants about every 2 1/2 to 3 feet apart. a 10 foot section gives me enough cukes to share with neighbors and friends. i grow cantaloupe on the fence too.
