grower around albany

I've posted a thread about social groups, only came up with one. When I talked to them they said the best thing to do was to just put a thread on here looking for a grower, so here it is. My wife is a legal cardholder. Looking for a grower around Albany. You can e-mail me at [email protected]. Anyone looking for a patient arould Linn county email me.

Thanks all...

Seriously, I never thought it would be this damn hard to just find a grower. I don't get why Oregon has Medical pot if so many people can't have any access to it. I have been searching for months, and nothing has come up. The only person who got back to me was some asshole who thought it would be okay to insult my wife because she is on ssdi. This is getting old. How in the hell am I supposed to find a grower, every route I have tried or been told about has come up empty.

You think that is bad, good luck in finding a good grower that will not rip you off. I got ripped off by my first two growers, my third was a great guy, with a big heart, but did not have the knowledge. I took me about 10 months, and 3 growers to find someone that was legit. I hope your experience is an easier road. Do not give up hope. Keep this in mind if he wants you to wait for your meds to finish that find someone else. A good grower will have your meds for you from day one.

$4500 to a grower to help build his grow room, contracted for free meds for 5 years because of it. He gets in trouble for growing in 3 other places on 4 patient cards (including my wife) on forged papers. He goes to jail... that was 2 years ago. Haven't been able to find a grower since.

Wow that sucks. Basically I think the grower search is a "Show Me" situation. As in show me what you grow and have enough to provide for me from the time you sign up.

Whenever I need to add a new patient I make sure I have samples and enough excess to carry them through until the next harvest. I only grow for myself and 1-2 others so it takes planning to add someone. I would never trust someone that says they will have "top-shelf" for you, for free, in 3 months...thye have to show you up front.

Well when a grower isn't asking for anything up front, I think it isn't very nice of the patients to demand medicine up front. I have grown for 6 years as a patient & grower and I don't ask for any reimbursement until the patient receives their medicines and an itemized list of the grow costs.
I think it comes down to compatibility and compassion on the part of both parties. I know there are thieves and shysters(?) out there. When I first started in the program my grower gave me the bottom popcorn buds. I didn't know any better until I helped trim and thought.....hmmm these are really big intact colas like from the magazines.....gosh I wonder why my medicine looks so scraggly.....naive of me. Then I started growing for myself and had some pitiful results but I kept at it and I am pretty damn good now. I also experienced giving one of my patients a pound and a half only to have them call me day and night 3 months later saying they are completely out and need more and they didn't make it into rick simpson oil they claim they were smoking it.
Sorry to be so long winded....I just believe patient/grower is a unique relationship. I will leave it at that.

Definitely a unique relationship. I have never had a grower myself, always grown for myself and just a few select others.

I have just seen a few different bad situations that revolved around growers promising what they couldn't deliver. That's why I have advised people that have asked, to always find someone that can at least supply some until the 1st harvest is in. I was easily able to have enough extra to supply 1 other patient when I was just growing for myself.

The other direction is equally true. I had one patient that obviously started to abuse our relationship. It became apparent he was trying to pay his rent with my generosity... he was gone soon after.

The OMMP is set up in a way that demands a lot of trust and fairness from both sides...it's tricky, but it can work well if you find the right people.

Well that would be fine if everyone was honest. With me that wasn't the case. My first two growers gave me like a half Oz to sample, and told me I would need to wait a couple months until "Mine" were ready. Well when the time came, the first one sends me a txt saying he had to skip town because of legal issues. The second just would not return my calls, and when he finally did the just said to find someone else, and hung up. So that in itself took up 5 of my first 12 months on the program, that another month to find another grower, than another 2 months before there was a harvest. So Altogether it was over 7 months before I really got any meds. If the grower is honest, and has his shit together there should be no problem giving the meds up front.

I think it depends on alot of things. Some patients get as much as 3 oz/month. The typical reimbursement is the cost of growing.. Indoors because of the electricity will generally be more. I say generally because I know some people put up greenhouses and have some of that reimbursed. Lots of people get their medicine given to them for free. I have a patient who doesn't pay (hasn't in three years) and I make RSO for her. Somewhere tho someone has to pay the price of the nutes, equipment, lights, pots, soil etc. Some patients purchase the equipment and many do not. Last year the cost ended up at $25/oz. Expensive? Not compared to clubs charging $35 and eighth. And don't even think about BM prices..... I hear alot of people reimbursing 150 up for their ounces. I have to think it is the electricity.
