Yea I did the same last time. I just put the light kinda high until they get a couple noids then I drop the light as close as possible. I think if you can it's good to start them under HID if you will be using it so they get use to it right from the get go.

I'm interested in seeing how the airstone does in there. Might make me add one to mine next time.

I think it will do well. Cause there gets to be a lot of roots. Plus it cost like 3 bucks and it fits down the tube so it's pretty easy. Now I just run 3 pumps instead of one.

I stabbed a hole in the side at the top of the bottom bucket just big enough for the airline to get through. From what Ive read, people say airstones are needed, others say they arent, it would be good to see a same strain grow with and without to compare.
