grow tent temps.

Im sure this has been posted a million times, but here is #bulbs on and 1. So i recently got an awesome deal on a tent light combo. Light is t5 system, tent deminsions are 4' tall 4' wide and 2' deep. I have a few fans left over from my last grow, that i am using to test out the temps. The light has 4 bulbs but 1 needs to be replaced (will replace all of them cause they are used). For intake i have a 4" inline duct fan, i also have a clip on 8" for circulation, and for right now a 8" clip on for exhaust (will be replacing with 6" inline). Anyways with the tent sealed up and everything on it gets about 82-88. i still need to replace the bulbs and for flower there will be a hps generating even more heat. Should I add another circulation fan or up the intake/exhaust cfm? Any other tips tricks and suggestions are welcome. Thanks guys. Will be posting pics of the tent and fans here in a bit.

You'll need to up the exhaust/intake cfm. Circulation fans won't lower your tent temperature. A cool tube type vented shade will be great if you can afford it when you add the hps. My biggest regret was not getting cool tubes when I first started my grow.

I had a 400w cool tube but my last roommate decided to steal it and move away. should i just buy another 400 or go smaller since its a small tent.

you dont need a intake fan. get a good 4'' inline fan, not a duct booster fan for exhaust. Make sure your intake holes are 2x size of exhaust and you will have passive intake. This will cause the pressure in the tent to remove the hot air the best.

If you are going to put a hid in that tent, I would only go with a 250w because of heat. 4' high isn't much I would say it's prob for seedlings and clones.

Bad thing is all the premade holes are no bigger than 6" so to up the exhaust ill have to add 2 fans. Ill be buying the 6" inline fan to up the exhaust. If temps dont look better after that then ill add another i guess. I also have 3 flaps for passive intakes open.

Yeah thats what i was thinking Neo, thanks.

Booms, ok ill look into a good inline fan. That is how i wanted to in the end but i was just testing with what i had already

Also, Yeah it is for seedling and clones but its big enough for a few small plants. Especially if i use a scren.

how many inches does the total of all the intake flaps add up to? I recommend a 6'' vortex fan. A 6'' vortex with 12'' of intake open will cool that tent easily...probably to much and will need a controller.
