Grow tent set up help

I am planning on using a 5'x5' grow tent with mylar for reflecting and a 600w apollo HPS grow light, also a 250 cfm inline fan. The light has 86,000 lumens and I will be using 3 to 5 gal buckets with organic soil. How many plants could I ideally grow in the tent? Is 600w sufficient for the 5'x5' area?

No need to buy Mylar because most tents should have a reflective material inside of the tent. If you are using a 600 watter I would only grow between 3-4 plants. Just don't over veg the girls or you might a jungle in there. Good luck

I had 4 in a 4x4 tent using nft hydro so you could fit a few man. It's all in how you grow though. You could have 3 plants doing screen of green and get em to produce very well.

The Apollo is only a 320w or so draw at the wall.

For veg it could work for a 5x5 @24-36". In flower, I would say it would be best suited for a 2x4. Imho, best results are when you average between 25-45 watts / per sq. ft of light.

As for plant #, ......... sticking with just what's current, I would setup space for what will fit in a 2x4 for best results. 2 of those lamps are probably best suited for not quite a 5x5, considering it is 9 more sq. ft than a 4x4.

5x5 is huge for a 6. I run a 600 wing in winter cooltube in summer with 4in inline fan filter combo. 3x3 or 4x4 is what I would go with and with the 4x4 you can add more light if you want. Sometimes I will throw another hood in mine when it is cold enough outsid that I can pump intake in from outdoors instead of relying on the ac.

plant # would be more dependant on style of grow. Just doing a normal 3-4 week veg and flipping in 3-5 gallon pots I would say no more then 5 in the 3x3 or 8 or so in a 4x4. Now if you are gonna run a sog then by all means you could put double those numbers in there..

at the end no matter what anyone says you will ultimately go with what works for you

The tent is working out quite well. I have added a 300w led for extra lighting to go along with the 600w HPS when I start to flower. Temps stay between 73-84 during 18 hours of light and drop to 65 when the lights are out. The humidity stays between 45%-52%. I have 2 six inch clip on fans to keep air circulating. My soil is half Fox Farm ocean forest and half Fox Farm happy frog with hydroton in 5 gal smart pots.
