grow tent design question

there is a section of my room that is about 8' tall, 8' long, and 4'wide. i would like to block that section of my room off with panda film. i have been thinking that building a wooden frame would be the best way to go about it to make sure that i can get it to have minimal light leaks (b/c i have to sleep in there still).

BUT MY PROBLEM is that this tent needs to be able to be FAIRLY EASILY taken apart and put back together b/c my parents will not enjoy me growing weed in my room, even though i am a med patient.

so basically the frame just needs to be able to support the panda film, no lights or anything like that cause ill just use the ceiling

so i was thinking maybe just screws? seems like with a drill i could easily remove them from the frame an put them back in later. my roommate suggested velcro, but i am not quite sure if it is strong enough. but i just read about some shit thats stronger than velcro supposidly?

so basically im lookin for ideas on how to have a wooden frame attach and detach fairly easily, so i could move it out if my parents are coming.

p.s. sorry if im rambling!

this isn't what you wanna hear, but are you sure you're ready to grow? you know how you would rig the lights and ventilate the area and all that good stuff? and what happens when your parents ask why there are chains with light bulbs hanging on them from the ceiling? don't take it personally, i'd like to help you. ;-)

all that aside, i would recommend PVC tubing INSTEAD of wood. easy to put together, highly customizable, and very strong.

i have been growing for a couple years now, i just keep moving locations and such. i am CURRENTLY growing right now. i built a small veg tent out of pvc and i got an 8 bulb t5, and my plants are doing great. i made that tent to a size that fits inside the doorway and can move into my roommates room. i already know how to ventilate the room and all that and it is all very easily portable in the space i have. i just need this to be able to be taken down 1-2 times a year. not like every month!

but my impression is that pvc is toxic for plants and i am not sure how to get a pvc frame really light sealed.

PVC piping would be the simplistic way. Very easy to assemble/disassemble and could easily support the film. Supporting an HID would need some thick PVC though if that is your lighting.

why not just use poles?? like the kind with flat ends. get your dimensions. n just bolt it up. bottom frame/posts then mount the top frame. then velcro (this is a well worth investment in collapsable grow areas.) your panda/visqueen sheeting.

What...? I'm chill :) I just thought it was VERY funny that you're going to build a huge tent with plants, lights, fans, carbon scrubber, buckets and bottles etc ... then try to take it apart and hide it before your parents can get down the stairs! You MUST have a creative mind if you think you can pull that off. They won't wonder why you're bringing all of this construction material into the house?

Maybe you had something MUCH smaller in mind ... it's still funny sorry ;) It won't be that funny when Pop finds out, but good luck.

I was wondering if its the glue that was and still might be in tent material of cheaper manufacturers. The old Hydro Huts that were white on the inside had toxic glue that was the culprit.
I'm SURE pvc pipe is not dangerous to plants as its used in many hydro and soil irrigation systems right under those HID's.
SCH 40 1.5" PVC is strong and would make an excellent frame for a tent. Use that. The fittings will run about $40-60 depending on how many lateral support you want. The pipe is about $3.25 per 10 ft piece.
