I appreciate your input, and see where your coming from serapis!

I had them in the tent, lights off.. and wanted to wait for them to come up just a bit before I flipped the lights on.. and as soon as I did they stopped growing in the vertical direction... so from what I can tell they did the opposite of stretch :D

I get that it's wasteful and all... but just a few weeks of overkill lights, and as a result overkill on the electricity bill.. isn't expensive.. it's cheaper to just run this 250w rather than going out and buying floros for the first week of growth.. on the first grow

seedlings are looking great though... i plan to repot up to the leaves so any slight stretching won't be a terrible problem anyway :)

I'm just happy to have something going

I would do it, I have always heard the more light the better...just don't get it to close. IMO
Ya that's what I thought thanks.

vegging seedlings over here with a 250w mh.. seeing how it goes :eyesmoke:
Cool ya I did it with my 1000 last time with no prob just woundering if the flo's would effect anything.

im vegging seedlings with a 1000 w mh, and they're doing great.
Yep cool.

Actually, that is not the case with HID lighting. As long as the seedling is receiving sufficient light for photosynthesis, it is not going to stretch and try to reach for the light. A good reason NOT to raise seedlings under HID lamps is because of the waste in power and resources. HID bulbs aren't cheap, and you have to raise them so high to avoid cooking the seedlings that you are wasting a lot of energy that never gets used. If you are then exhausting and or cooling the area, you are wasting even more power. I'm not suggesting anyone hug a tree, I'm simply pointing out what I consider wasteful. Seedlings do just fine under fluorescent lighting.
Ok awesome I'm all about saving energy. So is the thought more light is better not correct? Great info thanks.

I have heard that each plant should get about a 1' a piece, I would do anywhere from 6-10 plants in a tent like that....of course if you only have four plants and the same mount of light, it has been said that there is potential to yield the same if not more more...more plants doesn't always mean more bud, IMO. Hope this helps.

Ok im leaning towards 4 or 5 plants and then it would give me a little space to still move around inside the tent if i need to get in there.

Yea man thats good thinking, unfortunately my space was limited to 2ft wide so i have NO room to move around inside. Its somewhat of a struggle for the daily upkeep of the plants with the limited space right now, but within a few months I will be due for an upgrade

Are you financially impaired or just unsure what to do?
You could use a carbon filter/scrubber, ona, or ozone generator etc...

got carbon filter ect, done 3 grows tho, may b need a new carbon filter lol. i need input lol ???
did the filter work in the past, if so then yeah time to replace it. You can smear ona gel inside the tubing as well and that will maybe hold you over till you can get a filter.

This is my first grow. I have the DarkRoom 60 (24" x 24" x 55.2"). I started with 2 CFL lights but recently got a 250w MH Conversion bulb and a 250w HPS for flowering.

My problem is that I woke up and checked the plant after having run the MH for about 12 hours and the plant was all droopy. Checked the soil and it was bone dry. So I watered it and in a few hours it went back to normal. Today I open the tent and it's starting to wilt again. Check the soil.......... dry again!

My question is: Is the light too powerful? I use to water once every 2-3 days.

Also, in the last pic the very tip is turning color. I've read this could be from nut burn or a lack of mag/cal. It is really only on this 1 leaf but 2-3 other one's tips look a little weird.

Edit: I feed the plant food every other time I water. Temp is 70-80 with 60% humidity

i will be doing an experiment with several clones, once mothers are picked, on advance nutrients vs. fox farm.( more nute co.'s down the road) i would like to see if there is much of a difference with: vigor, production, bud development, odor, taste, & overall health.
