Grow room plan

Hey guys here is the plan for my grow room.. It would be Great to get some feed back from you!

First off I will be growing for myself and my GF. We both have our cards so 5oz is our legal limit. We both work 40+ a week so we dont have time to grow the full 24 plants and besides being rookies i feel like I want to start a little smaller then work up to more plants. We are looking at one of those grow room tents that are 4x4x7. The complete ready to grow set up with 1000 watt light as well as co2 is a decent price that we can afford. Now My real questions are... 1.) How many oz can I expect from 9 plants and a 1000 watt light? 2.) I do not plan on vegging or keeping clones I would rather just by teens to save time. is that a bad move? I dont mind spending the extra hundred+ bucks if it will be easy and save me time. 3.) I would much rather hand water every day kind of a way to get close to the plants and really give them my good energy.. Is that a bad idea? Should I look into Hydro insted?

So am I on the right track here or what?? And thanks in advance for the help you guys are great!

I think rocking seeds each time would be your best bet. with the right strains, pot size, environment, etc you could easily rock 2-3 ozs off each plant. if you are worried about your limit just stagger your seeds. I would go soil as it is more forgiving and less work learning how to dial in etc. check out sannies killing field for a no veg easy to grow big yielder. very nice smoke!

an extra 8 weeks by seed... I would also recommend hempy buckets, as you hand water daily. simplicity of soil with the growth of hydro, look up hempy buckets.

welcome aboard! i'm for keeping things simple from top to bottom. i'd forget the CO2 for a time. you have a lot of things to learn and you'll only learn them by growing. CO2 is nice but far from needed! soil is a nice forgiving medium and it doesn't take much time to maintain compared to hydro.

1000 watt in that little tent is a ton of heat. you need a really good fan and filter system to keep temps down. i have a tent that's a bit bigger and i use a 600 watt which is perfect for my needs. i pull an average of 16 oz per crop.

as far as how much yeild, you'll probably do closer to one oz per plant than 2 or 3 but this will depend on many things. who knows, you might do everything perfect and pull better numbers.

seeds dude! clones are sweet etc but if you're going to do this hobby for awhile, you need to buy and later breed some seeds! with clones, all you know about them is that some dude tells you that they are this or that genetic! you really have no idea what you're getting. there is a difference between seeds from the original breeder and seeds that are knock offs!

whatever you decide, enjoy! once you start trimming your first colas, you'll be hooked! :joint:

Yeah from seed. But if you are looking for fast yields there are autoflowers (8-10 weeks from seed) not as good a yield but you nvr have to change light to 12/12 just stay @ 18/6 and with a 1000 w and some love u can get an oz to 1.5 a plant( would expect a lil less first couple grows). Now all this is just from my readings on autodlowers no exp. Myself yet but am planning a couple ffor my grow after new years.

I agree with fatboy about clones unless u know the person then its iffy.

I am a fairly new grower only 2 outdoor harvest and none complete inside. If you go with soil stay away from MG killed my last plants with it.

I would grab a few t-5 stripsfor under/ side lighting. It might be overkill but its what I would do.

Best wishies mang.

I would do clones... Seeds does take a while you have to germinate and baby your seedling, cool thing about clones is as soon as you have them transplanted you can hit them with full strength nutes and you shouldnt have any problems.

1000W HPS is awesome but you are gonna have to cool it down and if you are using co2 you are gonna have to cool it by pulling cooler air from another room. You might also need a AC. Using Co2 you can flower your plants up to 85 degrees without problems. Just do your research on Co2 because buying the wrong AC or not properly sealing your grow area will just be a waste of cow because it will all get sucked out.

a few days ago, i gave my 3 week old seedlings a full dose of veg nutes because i was high and not thinking and high! this RARELY happens in my life! :) i didn't realize it until i woke up the next morning. lol. fortunately, the little troopers took it all and still look good!

i think i've mentioned my reason for not using CO2 before but for the new guy:

i started using CO2 right out of the gate. after a couple of years of running to the local shop that refills the CO2 canisters, one of the full, medium sized canisters, blew a seal while it was sitting in my kitchen. it shocked the crap out of me. it was very loud and it slammed into the wall. it sounded like a train running through a tunnel! i thought about what would have happened if this thing blew a seal while in my trunk and never used it again. i noticed a slight decrease in yeilds for a grow then i was exceeding my last yeilds.

unless you are totally dailed in with your grow, the increase in bud weight from using CO2 will be slight. when i'm pulling down 16 oz, i just don't care if i could have squeezed out another OZ if i spent a lot of time and effort using CO2. i'm lazy and i never want to be anywhere near a gas filled canister again. those things are dangerous!

for various reasons (most having to do with me being mechanically inept), my old closet with a 1000 watt would get up to 95 degrees during the summer. my yeilds were good. they improved once i got a handle on the heat but i always want people to know that they don't have to freak out if the temps are high. the buds will still grow and get you very high! such a great plant! :)

I use to work for a welder back in the day. We were pulling the tanks off his truck when the co2 tank fell off his truck andbroke the valve off. It flew about 10 yards into a tree and took a chunk the size of a mans head out of the side. Scarriest thingI ever had happen. The fire department said if it had been full it could have knocked the tree over.

If your herb gets you too high we ned to hook up.

lol

that was while i was in thailand back in the olden days! my genetics get me very high and i've been cutting them with mostly clear trichs because the genetics i'm growing take too fucking long to get the trichs cloudy. i'm hoping i'll be patient enough next grow to wait until everybody has mostly cloudy trichs. i'm not a patient man! :)

Thanks for all the help guys.. Im def going to forget about the CO2 for now at least. I think im going to go with clones as I feel pretty good about my source for them... It seems like there are alot of shops around W/ clones being offered as well...
