Grow room footprint ?

In the process of designing a new grow room for a flood and drain grow and want to know if anybody has gone up , 16 foot ceilings and two layers of plants? This would be cheaper than a larger building with twice the footprint.

I think if I use heavy steel racks, like the kind at Costco, I could do two eight foot layers.

Any problems with doing this?

Thanks in advance

what u are talking about is possible but means u have 2 sets of lights and need a walkway plus a method of getting u and items up and down ....then u need to cover and protect the lower stuff from anything falling...........by this point u are talking 50K in steel weilding if not more

I think its doable with way less then 50k invested. If you just framed out a second floor just like building a house. Walls first for first floor, 2x10 floor joist, 3/4'' tongue and groove floor boards with walls on top. build a set of steps to second floor and done. I know it will hold because i got a 150 gallon fishtank sitting right beside me sitting on 2x10s. I was a framer for 15 years until America lost its ass in 2008 and housing market went to shit...
