Grow Medium Questions

so I'm going to be using a 70/30 mix of Fox Farm Ocean Forest and Perlite in 5gal buckets for my growing medium. A 1.5cu Foot Bag of Fox Farm runs about 18 bucks and a 9cu Foot bag of Perlite runs about 20 bucks.

My question is, should I be using new soil for every grow? This can get costly, if its advised to get new soil everytime, I will, I don't want to sacrifice quality to save a few bucks but if I dont have to use new soil everytime I won't. just trying to save as much money as possible.. you know.. the economy and all :) First time growing indoors so its going to be a learning experience for me.

also I assume im going to need to feed these girls and I dont want to spend a boatload on nutes, so have people had good results with the plain old miracle grow plant food for veg? and what do you guys recomend for a common store bought food for blooming phase?

Hey bub, man i remember i was there too.
That was over 6 years Ago lol.

First don waste money on perlite, ffof is airy enough and is a great product that really neexs no additives unless wanted as i do with mine.

Second, ur soil is the most improtant aspect of ur grow besides genetics of seeds. So what im saying is, NEVER REUSE! no good. Have done it twice and didnt even get halfway thru flowering due to lockout and defeciencies. For 18 ur are lucky and should enjoy the price, i pay 25 per bag. I spend about 150 a month or so but i also run 3 600 watts with 16-24 plants under each light.

Now to my trickiest subject. I used many and seen many growers with endless variations. If u have 90 beans u can get a FULL LINE of aurora organic nutes. I use this and wont change, my plants absolutely love it and since ive grown out 15 different strains. Says something about the diversity of the nutea for multiple plants. But for a quick cheap soultion, grab bio bizz bloom and grow or just simply buy a grow and bloom fert only w/o the micro, really all u need until u gain some experience with feeding, which is as fun as it is mind boggling due to countless blown grows due to under/over feeding , ph problems, and soon. You should also get simple ph and ppm meters for evaluation, plus you will also need these if you want the dankest.

Well tyats all for now . Good luck bub . Grow on
