I have read on numerous occasions that promix hp is to be treated like hydro when it comes to ph'ing water. I've also read that when things are added to it it will have to be, eventually , considered soil.
When I mixed mine, I've added bone and blood meal as well as a little more lime and fritted trace elements at a rate of 1 tablespoon per gallon. Does this mean it's still considered hydro or is it now soil?

I amend my promix with scoops of Botanicare Organicare, and gallons of fresh well water.
I call it dirt. I'm a dirt grower I say.
If I was dripping bottled nutrients into the substrate I'd call it hydro, and expect lower quality weed :P

So you're basing it on whatever fertilizer you use? Organic vs. chemical?

yes, I guess I am. but thats me, I bet a hundred internets someone else has better definitions.
I like to count on my cooked soil to sustain living bacteria and herds of beneficials too. You just cant do this feeding with
salts from a bottle in my experience without an octopot similar

That's exactly my issue right now. Some say so, some so. But it is kind of important when ph'ing water and trying to prevent lock out

Everywhere I read it says soil around 6-6.5 and hydro even lower.

you absolutely must try it then, side by side. let me know the results. fuss with one and not the other. all bets off though when you start adding chems/salts to the mix. dont panic, grow organic. no fuss, no muss, no ph.....

Usually i like to take my water from the tap too. I usually let it sit in open air for 24hrs, the reason being most tap water has chlorine, flouride, and trace elements in it, the time it give the water time to release those things. I'm doing an experiement now with a gold fish bowl and a air stone, see if it help with ph, i just recently pick up a 10gal fish tank as well

sorry, 24 hours sitting out will not remove fluoride or trace elements from water.
bubbles may affect it, stones could too.
fortunately my tap is fed by my own well, I love my trace elements, I try to use it up soon as it comes out so nothing escapes:P
