Grow Light Help Please

Hello all.

New member and new grower here.

I've decided to take the plunge and grow a few plants and I'm hoping someone might be able to suggest a good grow light.

I have an old wardrobe that I will be using to grow in. It is 31" long x 20" deep x 60" high. Not the ideal size but it is what is.

I'm going to try 2 plants using DWC.

I'd like to use LEDs, but after researching what to buy, I am overwhelmed with the choices out there.

I was looking at the Mars Hydro SP150 as it has a rectangular form factor and actually fits in my wardrobe (unfortunately the SP250 won't physically fit).

Then I read a lot of good things about quantum boards and looked at the HLG line of products...they are pricey but people seem to rave about them.

Then I saw people suggesting going the DIY quantum board route...it seems you can purchase a lot and assemble the whole thing yourself to save some money.

So all of this has led me here to respectfully ask for your suggestions.

Not sure if I have provided enough information, but if not, just let me know.

Thanks in advance for your time and knowledge.

Respectfully,
NP

I am trying out the boards now, and so far I'm impressed. I bought 2 hlg 260 Rspec's a 135 Rspec and a few 100's.They are powerful though. My plants got a little stressed when I put em in there, so I raised em to 24" and they are looking better now. I could turn down the Rspec's, but just raised them since I have room.

Thanks for the response.

Do you think 1 of those 260's would do for my space? Or perhaps 2 of the 135's?

Thanks again.

I think either option would kick ass, since you can turn them down. 2 135's would give you more options, but a little more work moving lights, and may put off more heat since there are 2 drivers but don't know for sure. I love em both, but I would get the Rspec if your going to flower with them since they have the added 660 red LED's. And I've caught many Northern Pike, some over 3 feet, so watch out man. Haha.

Thanks again...reassuring to know I'm on the right track!

Pike sure do put up a nice fight don't they? 2 years ago I was lucky enough to land a 46" monster in Georgian Bay...so big I thought it was a musky at first!

Thanks again for your help,

NP
