image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg Hey everyone, decided to start a journal and show off my struggles as a new hempy grower.

Right now these are my potential mothers. Soon as I take cuttings I will put the cuttings into hempy buckets. Right now I'm keeping soil mothers but I'll fill you in.

I have a 4x2 grow cab I modified with a 400w HPS 6" inline fan. I use pbpb:calmag In a 3:1 ratio. I also use hormex for cloning and half the recommended amount mixed into my nutes

Hope we all enjoy as I'm pretty excited to see where this goes.

PS: right after I bought my seeds I found a lot of hate on Cali connection and this strain. Personally had great results all the seeds popped even after sitting in my drawer for 6 months. Not that anybody didn't have a right to complain I just give credit where it's due. Stay tuned!

So picked up some RO water today. I also stepped up my nutes.
5 drops Hormex
9ml PBPG
3ml CalMag

Did a ph test and it was at 4.0!! Holy crap. I was using arrowhead water up until today. So if my ph was anything close to what it was when I tested my mix today... Then why are these plants doing so well? I didn't have a ph test kit until today as well so I wasn't testing my ph before.

Anyway did a ph adjust to about 6.5 ph I just use the liquid as those pens are pretty expensive and require maintenance, and I'm all about easy so...

I watered today but they are just recovering from OVERWATERING ugh so I watered until I got just a few drops of runoff. Very little runoff. Plus I didn't poor the water I sat there with a spray bottle for a half an hour misting. This way it wouldn't disturb the root structure and possibly deprive them from oxygen.

I'm at work now I'm hoping the jump in ph ( if there was a jump) won't cause any problems. I'll upload a photo tonight of the days progress after my afternoon watering.

Looking great today. Seems I get signs of overwatering very quickly.

Couple hours after I watered couple of the girls were looking droopy and lighter green than usual. I attributed it to airflow and drainage.

The pots I have don't have awesome drainage and by the pictures you can see this grow area for now is really closed off. The two little fans move plenty of air but I think humidity rises fast and doesn't allow for good evaporation.

I left the doors cracked overnight thinking it would let moisture out of the cab and bring humidity down. Sure enough checked this morning and looking gorgeous as ever.image.jpgimage.jpg image.jpg

So guys I ran into some problems. I switch to RO water and started getting brown rust spots in my leaves . Looked to be an early sign of lockout due to Ph imbalance. I worried and stressed and worried some more. I was reading up on everything.

Right now I'm running soil to have mothers for some hempy runs. I wanted to flush so I could try and fix the PH. But I was just recovering from overwatering about 4 days ago.

Well I'm beginning to believe these rust spots were from over watering and high humidity levels and poor drainage. Cut some extra holes in the pots, broke up the soil a little and took then out of the small enclosure they were in.

So far rust spots seem to be receding and actually looking better, no signs of further progression of spotting. Greener healthier posing and stature. Life looks good.

The soil seems pretty dry right now but I'm gonna wait it out another day before I water. I'll keep the same mixture as last time.
15mL PBPG
5ml Cal Mag
5ml Sweet
PHd RO water.

I won't flush as it doesn't seem necessary at this point if problems come back I'll flush. Right now gonna keep watering a light until the root system is bigger seem to be battling humidity and runoff problems. Here are some early stage photos and today's photos.

The babies pictures were taken May 2nd. The brown spot is the problem I was running into. The last photo is from this morning. These guys are 15 days old from sprout

Not much to update except that things are going swimmingly. Moved them into a new chamber so I can start cloning. I call it mamas house.

Anyway recovered from overwatering officially. Found out that RO has an extremely low PH when nutes are added. But now it's looking beautiful.

I will be cutting clones asap these guys are getting tall. I'm also gonna get rid of the phenos that never grew side chutes . A couple of them are bug sticks with fan leaves I think they're headed to the trash. Anyway stay posted as a LOT Of fun stuff is coming up for you hempy lovers!

So I chopped down a couple bad phenos for my mother chamber then cropped my current mothers. They were getting too tall and their side chutes were gettig very little light exposure under the cfl. So I fed and cut and trimmed and here they are today looking lovely.image.jpg

Can't wait to see yours flower. gotta plant from an unknown CC seed mix from a few years back from attitude. I thought it was the Corleone Kush but now I'm not sure. The plant flowers purple and looks like the photo on attitude for LA Affie. and the leaves look very much like yours in veg.

I can't wait either! There's a lot of controversy over this strain.

Anyway cloning tonight so stay tuned these girls are ready.
