Grow design and Guidance

I'm looking to build and grow for the first time. I have done a lot of forum reading and I'd like some advice.

I have a 12'x24'x8' room in my basement that I can either frame a room or two or do tents. I already have a RO system inlace for drinking water. Electricity isn't much of a concern, and I have propane heating in my house that I could tie into for co2 system later. Besides RO water my house is supplied by a well.

I'm looking to start with 12 plants then move 24 and hopefully be setup for perpetual grow. The first 12 I will prolly grab clones from a friend.

I'm pretty set on doing the Ebb & Grow system, since Sentinels will not be out until next year. I also want to do at least 2000 watts. My budget is about $4-5k to start. And I really just want to focus on building the first room for a veg/flower cycle. The next run I hope to invest more money to setup a clone/mother/veg room/area. I really have 2 rooms of the size mentioned above. I know I shouldn't require that much room for a 24 plant setup.

Some of what I'm looking for are what are the must haves, gotchas, and a design.

My initial design is basically 12 pot E&G, 4x8 tent with dual 1k hps. Use RO and some nute system, and monitor the nutes, have airflow, use a dehumidifier during flower, and see how it goes. I dont know if a tent is the way to go vs building rooms and prepping ect. I'm really new to this but I'm not stupid and I've learned a lot from the forums and some local friends that grow. Help a noob out :)

I also am planning on doing perpetual grow journal as I setup and run

My advice is to build the smallest possible setup that you can expand upon. Complete at least 1 growing cycle then take it from there. You will have all the knowledge you are asking us for plus a WHOLE lot more from growing some plants from start to finish. I eventually want to do a monster setup but a 20sq foot grow is what I am beginning with.

P.S. I am a noob and don't know shit. I am just sharing what my conclusion was at your phase.

I've helped a friend start to finish but he doesn't do hydro, and is just starting to expand his setup

if you are in it for the long time i would build your room alot cheaper than tents. line the walls with mylar white and black the heat spot one use carpet glue spray in a can from wickes to stick to wall works great . paint floor white to reflect. make sure u allow room to space your babies out so they can get nice and bushy. how i have my set up is im in a brick shed split shed in half put false wall up put a door in cut small hole out on bottom letter box size or smaller this is for my air intake as it pulls air under the the main door from outside . the filter is up high to ceiling as my room is air tight it pulls fresh air in from the bottom of door which flows round the room nicely and dosent smell on the other side of my room only when i open the door and walk in i can smell them. take a look at my big bang on my latest thread the room was built quickly but works realy well no leaks or bad smells and im on 8 weeks flowering looking very juicy cant waitanyway hope u get your room sorted good luck widdow
