8'x2'x8' Veg and Flower room. Plan on doing DWC hydro first in a 40 gallon reservoir 4 plants then after the first harvest switch to soil hopefully Subcool's super soil mix. Waiting for my Afghan Goo seed to show her sex been about 30 days now. Hopefully use AG for my Mother plant...if AG turns out to be male might save him if space allows.

Starting a grow room in a closet dimensions 8' tall 8' wide and 28" deep. I want split rooms for vegging and flowering for a perpetual grow. The veg room will have two, two feet t5 fixtures might throw in another if the room is not bright enough. The flowering room will either have a 400w or 600w hps depending on temps and suggestions. Here is what I came up with. Hopefully this works...First pic my design second pic actual area.

I plan on getting a 4" can fan or something similar and most likely putting in the attic to keep noise to a minimum. The closet has about 140cubic feet of area. The intake would be sucking air from the gable end vent on the side of the house. The exhaust will be exiting out of a roof vent in the attic not near the intake. The picture above I have 4" ducting for exhaust in the veg room and 6" in the flowering connected by a box(Exhaust collector). The reason I want the exhaust to be mainly sucking more air out of the flower room like 65-75% and the veg room 35-25%. The exhaust and intake would have about 15-20feet of ducting. As for the lights in the flower room I'm leaning towards a cool tube and a electronic ballast to keep noise down. The front of the closet will be enclosed with 4.5mm poly with wooden supports. Any suggestions for making this cheaper and more efficient build?

Update...Finished the actual structure of the room but still need to figure out the ventilation and lighting in the flower room. There is my veg room with two, two foot t5 lights with reflector, and 2 26w 6500k cfls above my AG seed(about 1 month old).Flower room has a 40 gallon dwc reservoir with four, 4" air stones, 2 air pumps ,and will be using Cutting Edge solutions 3 part nutrients.Need input on my design, this is my first grow room so any criticism good or bad would be appreciated. And to all the spies/lurkers this is a medicinal grow in California under prop 215.

Just bought a 6" active air fan and some ducting so hopefully today I will get some ventilation done. I changed some ideas thinking of connecting the flower and veg room by a duct since the veg room barely reaches 75F and most of the air circulation needs to be in the flower room. I am also thinking of going to a 600w hps ballast and the yeild master 2 hood. But I am not going to have the hood vented and just having the exhaust suck out the whole room instead of sucking it through the hood. Also started some AG clones and hopefully they take root so I can put them into flower to see what sex the mother is.

Sorry I can't help you - I'm just doing simple soil grows; no hydro; no special venting. I think you're not getting a lot of reply 'cause it sounds like you've got it in hand, and everything looks clean and detailed so far. The Forum sections on Indoor and Grow Room Design have good "Sticky's" with a lot of detail on ventilation, best prices, etc.

I have decided to get a Yeildmaster supreme ac 6" hood cost about 100bucks at a local hydro store. I have the fan mounted in the attic hopefully it wont vibrate the house to much but we will see. Thinking of just running the exhaust like so...1-2' of ducting(probly not just an idea), going to the closed hood, then up about 5' of ducting to the active air 6" fan rated to be around 400cfm. Also, having some ducting inbetween the veg room and the flower room to have the rooms connected but still light proof. Might get a fan controller so I can optimize the noise and temps if money permits. The intake will be coming down from attic vent not near the exhaust, then splitting into 2 for each rooms at the floor. Hopefully this fan will be enough to produce a vacuum in the closet. In the end this build costed me about 700 green men. Well worth the knowledge learned.

Thinking about doing the same style perpetual in my closet except a 1000W on a rail for the flowering on top and vegging under a T5 on bottom. Looks like your set up is sound and I hope mine will e the same. If your environmental factors are all gravy with temp, humidity and ventilation all on point then u should be gravy goo luck brother
