Ok everyone, here is the deal. Got the 600HPS and just about everything I need to get this grow underway. I am now at a crossroads. Should I grow in my closet, which is 36X24X78, or should I go with my original plan and grow in the DR120? Have some WW seeds and AK47. I would like everyones opinion and the pros and cons. Thanks everyone..I know this is my first post, but I been on this site for ahwile now just soaking up knowledge. Once everyone helps me decide, I will document my grow in a journal. Peace!

tent is easier to vent than a cupboard but the results if you mylar the cupboard will be pretty similar. from one don to another id go with the ten thinking about it 3 x 2 x 6.5 ft is a bit small for a 600W lamp

my two penneth for ya good luck!

Ok, so this might have to go to another thread, but I am going to ask for everyones opinion anyways...heres the secnario' 4X4X6.5 tent, SOG, 600HPS...AK47 from seed...what would be a good yield?

stays relevant.
I'm not going to answer the question on yield because it can vary so much, but regarding your question about tent vs closet:

If you grow in a closet you may end up needing to do damage to the closet to route wiring, or ducts for air circulation.

A tent is a long term product that you will have use for the entire time you're growing... The tent you flower in today could be the tent you veg in tomorrow. I love grow tents, and certainly would never build a box, or throw my plants in the closet again... Tents are pretty air-tight, light-tight, and provide a portable structure for your plants...

If you get a tent, get the DR150 if you can afford it... I have one, and they are great. I think the DR120 is comparable size, but I don't know about putting a 600W in there... You'll need plenty of ventilation.

Yeah, I saw the DR150...I am so close to getting it, literaly all I had to do was push the submit button! I was looking at the 120, 80 bucks more you get more square footage. What size inline fan for the 600 watter you think I should run with the 150 setup? How big could I get my plants in the 150 considering the heat from the light?

I've been looking at the DR120's for a while and chose that for my best pick of tent I would go with that man, for sure. As long as you do like tech says above, ventilate it very well to avoid problems. Tent (in your case) is bigger and movable and much more versatile in general, tent FTW

Yeah, but with the 150, you could easily put three, maybe four, 3 gallon pots in there for a SOG. In my opinion, definately worht the extra 80 bucks, dont you think?

Sure, go with the DR150 if you have the room! The more space you have to work with the better. I will inherit a nice big house one day and I plan on turning 1/4 of the basement into a grow room, will be like 10' X 15' , bigger is better in this case!

PS ~ I think you could fit more than that into a DR150, check out this dude, he's got 4 waterfarms going in one DR120 with enough room for the res, a heater, and a fan.. :) (pictures are throughout the thread)

Cool deal. So, I am ordering the DR150, use that for a couple grows. I could turn it in to a Mother Chamber pending good results.I am new to the whole indoor growing community and I am anxious to get my hands dirty!

With 600W, what size inline fan would be good to run? I know the bigger the better, but I really do not want overkill.

I know that I look like a noob, but I have been growing outdoors for a few years and I have read all the popular indoor books and I have been on RIU for ahwile now, but I am looking for my fellow RIU members opinion. Lots of good, knowlegable people out there...any advice is welcome.

Figure out how many cubic feet squared your growing in and get something that will empty it in 5 minutes or less. If the fan is strictly for your grow light then get something that fits the size of your ventilation, what are the DR150's top vent holes? 6'', 8''?

I am going to go with the six inch inline. Should be good. Anyone recommend a good humidifier/de-humidifier to throw in the tent? Right now RH is about 20%, and no, I am not going to use the "saucer plate" method, lol. Something cheap..under 75$.
