grow closet on a budget

hey guys, i am somewhat new to growing but i have learned alot on these forums and in doing so i have pretty much convinced myself im going to start a grow closet soon lol. I need to know what kind of set up i can get for about 300-400 dollars. all suggestions are appreciated

sounds great how many plants would i be able to keep happy with that kind of setup?

Get a 400 watt hps with ballast from High Tech Garden Supply, for about 200 bucks
get an additional cfl to hang on each side the under leaves get light as well.
cfls are cheap

I am not an expert and might be wrong on everything. (You know how things and beleifs change) I already had a cabinet in the room I wanted to use. I lined the walls with alim. foil I came upon HIGH OUTPUT LED Grow lights. I got 2 of them delivered for $130.00 . The clones I got for $10.00 each. I got 3 so far. I got the clones that are used to light all the time. ( Some thing I read is that that can increase your yeild 40%.) I will buy 2 more LED lights within 1 week or so when I get more clones. So to that point I will be into the lights to 260. The LED Grow lights use far less electricity. I will need at least 6 lights to do this to the end. I also use real sunlight because I can. Well what I did was buy two spectrum's of CFL bulbs. 2700K and 6500K.
I switch the ratio between the two depending on if I am vegging or flowering and in total right now for vegging I have ~200 Watts. And it's doing well. Also, if you contact me I'll let you know how I got a bunch of free CFLs

And yes, it's legal.

the free cfls thing interests me. i'm planning on using 10 bulbs all together (5 for veg and 5 for flowering) and let me say that they aren't cheap especially on a budget

thats if you really want to get everything you will need. for about $380 delivered, but i got a HPS and MH for about $195 delivered with the ballast. ebay is a great place to get anything you need/want on a decent budget.

i got 10 cfls 7500k from the local sams club 4 12 bucks if that helps
