grow cabinit from wallyworld

so I took a 30.00 cabnit from Walmart that i was going to use for storage and found a better use for it! It was already painted white so in my mind i was thinking...perfect!! I drilled 2, 3 inch holes in the side and wired up pc fans to a old cell phone charger. I placed them on one side with one blowing air in at the bottom and one blowing air out at the top where the light is. this is creating a very good air circulation! I took some hooks and screwed them into the top of the cabinet and hung a 125 watt fluorowing compact grow light.

im thinking im gonna use this to really get the plants growing and then put them into my grow tent. maybe try a scrog grow with one of them. total investment, just under 100.00 and there is no sound! ill stick it in my closet and let it go!

the interior decisions are 23 inches in length 27 inches height and 11 in depth

look s good
but lower that light a bunch way to high and plants will stretch like crazy

use your hand and move it close to light when u start to feel heat thats how close u can put it to plants

and if u flower in it u need to light proof doors and fan holes

will do! the instructions said to keep it 6-12 inches away but i have some extra chain that i can use to lower it! thanks for the input!

is it a t5 light
never heard of a cfl fixture that required that much height

no just a cfl. i moved the plants closer, there dosnt seem to be much heat

That's a pretty good idea actually Looks like jesus is about to pop out of that cabinet with all the light leak in one of the pix lol

move hand towards light when it feels warm not hot thats how close u can put it

Nice setup man. One suggestion though...

Take some blue or some red cups of the same size and slide them over the clear ones. Roots hate light!
I use this very same method with double layered cups. It allows you to check on the root mass without disturbing the plants.

theres no heat with it 6 to 12 inches away, I put the girls on some yoga block to raise it about 4 inches. I was actually about to put the girl into some 1 liter black plastic pots, but when i checked up on them, I'm just not sure if the plants are ready or no to be moved to the next level

why didnt you clean the box before you put your light and stuff in there? i mean shit you got saw dust in there who knows what else you got...

the dust is all over the box. i would clean the whole entire inside so the light reflects more.. and well so your grow space is clean. bugs like dirt.
