Grow cab design

G'day

I'm just finishing up my first grow, which was in a cupboard with fem snow white.

I'm looking to move to something a bit more stealth, so trying to design a hidden cabinet, but not sure if the space i have to work with is realistic.

My space will be 1400mm(55inch) long x 600mm(23.6inch) deep x 2500mm(98inch) high. I have another 300mm(11inch) in height available if needed.

I only want to grow 1 plant because of local laws, but want to grow it as big as possible.

If i train most/all additional growth to the side, do you think this would be enough space to grow a sativa?

I was thinking of getting a 600w elec ballast, and running globes in a cool tube. Does this sound like an appropriate size or should i go smaller/bigger.

I'm going to grow hindu kush and afghan kush, and would also like to grow a nepalese sativa (malana) and an african or hawaiian landrace if possible.

Thanks for the help

Hindu Kush is a nice plant to grow.
It's short and stout, I think my tallest plant was 38 inches tall, but then again I grew it hydro, and started blooming it when it was only 6 inches tall.
But I think I got almost 6 oz. of bud on only 4 plants.
I didn't really care for the high. I called it sleepy weed. Whenever I smoked it, I felt extremely drowsy.
I prefer an Indica/Sativa mix. Hindu Kush I'm pretty sure is a 100% Indica.

Just remember, good seeds do not give you great bud.
A good grower, gives you great bud.

I can take the shittiest no name bag seed, and turn it into the most dankest weed you've seen in a long time.

It's all about the environment you create for your plants.

Thanks for the response bongjuice. I'm just looking for consistent long term breeding, thus the pure genetics and landrace.
I figure once i've worked with the strain for a while i should be able to bring out its best.

Any advice on my proposed environment? Do sizes sound suitable? Does light source sound like an ok choice?

Cheers

A 600 watt is fine, a 400 watter would work nice for your area also.
A cool tube light is the way I see some growers going, but I don't think it's necessary as long as you vent your grow room properly.
Personally I would just go with a 400 watter. 400 watts really don't give off that much heat.

I use a 400 watt light. Plus I've tried something new the last few grows. I've been using Liquid Light. It's a foliar spray that you spray on your on plants about an hour before the lights come on twice a week. It optimizes the calvin cycle which is part of photosynthesis process. Basically it'll make a 400 watt light work like a 600 watt light.

It's not only light that optimizes growth.
Good lighting is only one part of the growing process.

You need excellent quality air.
I filter my air before it even enters my grow room with an air cleaner.
Plus I enrich my grow rooms with Co2 keeping the Ppm levels right around 1500. Also I exhaust my grow space about 5 times a minute. The temperatures stay at a perfect 78 degrees during the day and at night they drop to around 70.
After each crop I scrub everything, I mean everything down.

You need excellent quality nutrients.
Whether your growing hydro or soil, you still need excellent quality nutrient. I don't give a shit what these other punk kids that think they grow good bud say.
You need to use good nutients as well as using the micro nutrients.
I use everything from Voodoo Juice, Scorpion Juice, Piranha, Tarantula, Bud Blood, Folic Acid, Humic Acid, everything and anything that I think will make the most of my plants.

So if you use good quality light, you also need good quality air and nutrient.
If you skimp or go cheap on any one these, your plants wont produce to their fullest potential.

The reward from all this hard work is knowing that you've got the dankest weed around.
I love it when people say to me, "Where did you get this stuff? I've never seen anything like it".
When I harvest, my crop looks just like they advertise it in the magazines.

Don't ask for pics, because I'm a paranoid freak when it comes to stuff like that.

Thanks bongjuice, that was a huge help. Will get a 400w, and if need extra light got a ton of cfl fixtures i can use. I have a 275cfm fan to pull air out, and as part of the stealth air will be pulled through air filters (will try and make it look like speaker grill).

Do you have any experience with soil grow? My only other real question is what size pot i would want to end up with to grow 6-7.5 foot plants.
