grow box help

Hello guys I'm new here and I have been interested in growing for a long time now, I just don't know where to start. I don't have a lot of space in my room, which is where i plan to grow in, so i was wondering of a grow box that is kinda tall maybe 3-6ft and not to wide to fit like 4-6 plants maybe 8 plants idk, I think growing tall plants would be my best bet. I would love to yield a couple ounces per harvest, and i also have questions whether I should grow in soil or hydroponics, what kind of lighting would i need, whats the best nutrients to use, and which is better between mylar and white paint. Another big thing is smell, is there any way i can contain the smell so that no one will notice that I'm growing?
