Green worms falling from the trees?

Anyone else seen ALL of these green worms falling out of the oaks? No exaggerating I had a over 1000 of them on my vehicle yesterday. Granted, my shed is well locked but not to these little dudes. Just curious if anyone else has seen these and will they hurt my room?

Have to be a pretty small hook. Ive lived here for thirty years and have never seen these before. Just hoping they dont like to eat anything green. Ugh
