I recently bought a grren light party bulb from Target. Is this o.k to use during my 12/12 dark period? People say its ok to use, but I want to hear someone say that they have used green lights with no ill affect myself..lol.
Am I o.k?

No, this is actually not good to use. It merely filters the whole light sprectrum THROUGH a green light, so the plants can still recieve the STOP FLOWERING signal. I would recommend a green LED light because the LED itself does not produce any spectrum that causes the plant to flower and are sold specifically for viewing plants during the flowering cycle. I used an LED on my grow all the time, and I'm on day 62 of flowering and no problems whatsoever.

its okay to check up on your garden at night...the spectrum from the green light will not deactivate the darkness period needed for flowering..as far as a supplemental light....... I have no idea..probably a waste of electricity.

So what you are saying is that you can use these green lights to check out your plants at night (when lights are off), and it won't fuck them up ??

yes... :) you can use the light to tell the ladys hello when it is there bedtime!! :)it won't reset the critical darkness period..

correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that plants do not use green spectrum light. So if you are using it for anything except trying to grow then i bet you will be fine.

yeah....plants like the red, blue, and orange spectrums.........they look green because they are reflecting the green light spectrum...blue for veg and red for flowering.....but nothing is set in stone... :) peace

If I need to go into my flowering room during the dark time I just go. I have a shop light in there and I flick the switch and go do what I have to do.Guess what... I've never had it do anything to my plants. I don't have any little 2 plant closet grow either. ( No offense to anyone who has a 2 plant grow, A lot of my friends do). I have a perpetual grow where I harvest a plant a week. I grow 4 different strains in there too. MHO, and I know people will argue with me about this till the cows come home, going in occasionally and turning on low level lights is no big deal.At least it hasn't been for me.

I used 4 green lights in a past grow op in my 12/12. Never had a problem. They where the party green lights from wal mart.

why even go in there during the night cycle anyways? if they are green, when the lights go off, then chances are they are going to be green when the light comes back on...idk..i never have a reason to go in there when they are sleeping..and if i think i do.i just wait till the light comes on.no reason to fuck up a good thing.

I go in my room at night on occasion if I need to do certain things that can't be done in the day, ie any types of sprays I like to do about an hour b4 lites come on.... I don't use a green light, my grow is in a cab so it get the incandescent light from the bedroom light... I haven't seen any problems yet but I figure 15 minutes of indirect light is better than spraying in the daytime and getting burn spots in the leaf...

I go in under the green Light and clean up, etc. They don't mind.

Your plant is blind to the green lights, so no you can do whatever you want in there. Noise will not bother them, just lights.
